That visit has been planned for a long time. There was a great article in The Diplomat online magazine about Chinese thoughts on a meeting and how Chinese planning doesn't necessarily react the same as western planning when it comes to these sorts of shock events. China is not going to cancel something like that.

Trump likely wants the conflict wrapped up before the meeting though.

They can do all this secret spy stuff. Have moles inside the Iranian government but couldn't control or notice 4,000 hamas fighters gathering in the concentration camp that is Gaza?
