It won't do much for west coast. A tanker loading in USGC for the West Coast will take a lot of time. It's not a normal route in the base case. It could help the East Coast by having a more tankers available to send product up there.
Don't care about the west coast, they voted for it

This means the government appreciates how protectionism leads to higher costs.
Maybe there can be a discussion outside of free-market nerd circles about how the Jones Act has damaged the shipping industry and essentially destroyed the shipbuilding industry in the US.

Pretty sure the West Coast is already using the Bahamas as an intermediary before transiting the Panama Canal as a way to bypass the Jones Act.

Iran is Afghanistan 2.0. They will revert to radical Islam shortly after we pull our foot off their throat. We'll lose a lot of young folks and money trying to effect lasting change. Destroy their nuclear capability and move on.

Relax, Trump has this.

But can we practically just up and leave? This will destabilize the region. Everyone sees videos of celebrating Iranians, but what percentage of the people is that? And, do they care about "freedom" as much as the Islamists care about their religion? This could easily turn into a cluster that affects us for 50 years.
