So much to unpack here...
So I need to "grow a pair and make a budget" because of some sort of mythical "focus and resolve" that trump has? Are you actually ok with paying more for everything (price at the pump hits everything) AND your tax dollars to support his "focus and resolve" that he cant even define? And then you compare this fiasco to WWII?

Nobody is claiming the end of the world, but people are feeling it in their wallets, with no end in sight. Contrary to what some folks on here say, most people are not interested in paying more for gas in order to overthrow the Iranians or own the libs or whatever the bs reason is today.

Did you read flown-the-coop's response to you?
You're going to get your rations and like it. You and your family can manage with 2-5 dolls loaves of bread gallons of gasoline instead of 30. Remember, comrade that your sacrifice will make you purer

At least I can watch my grandkids grow up.

Others embrace a warm future for their progeny.

Diesel back up. $5.29 at QT mart. Is the end in sight or are we going to keep seeing record fuel prices?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Not sure if lower prices would be a good thing at this point

JMHO short of a significant global downturn diesel is going to be high for a very long time ( months maybe years )

Were we weeks away from this? Or was this going to happen in 1992 when the movie came out?

A week into May, and the bb guns are starting to annoy me. Amazing how much they've raised gas prices.

Here in Bryan/College Station, gas jumped 40-50 cents on Monday.

Almost everyone is now at least $3.99 other than a few of the grocery store locations, which will likely go up within the next day or two.

I was in Monroe, OH yesterday. Diesel was at $6.15. That's a gut punch.

I really do not get this attitude. You lose any moral high ground when in a bad situation you comfort yourself with the pain of others. Not to mention, California grows a lot of food and high fuel and fertilizer costs are going to affect us all.

Maybe it's part of the "owning the libs" mentality meets "my life may be hit and sucking, but if there's others hurting too, maybe even more, it makes me feel better and it's worth it,"?

Chevron CEO says that shortages are coming:

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Chevron-CEO-Warns-of-Emerging-Physical-Shortages-in-Crude-Oil.amp.html

I'm not a major doom and gloomer but from the numbers I've seen we are very close to unprecedented territory. When you account for tank bottoms, pipeline fill, and how much oil is on tankers at sea (ie not physically present for delivery yet), I believe we are going to be cutting it extremely close in terms of keeping the system working. If pipelines start to go below minimum volumes I would think there will be refineries that have to shut down.

More and more stations are at $3.89 in the LBK, with a couple even at $4.09.

Now to see what happens before the given memorial day prove jump.

We are at war with the left. I'm not interested in the moral high ground. I'm interested in permanently defeating liberalism, which is literally killing this nation. I'll gladly pay more for ag products (which is mostly nuts and fruits which I don't consume) to see that state driven into the dirt. The leftists that occupy and run that state are insane and evil.

They are getting crushed on gas prices because of their own liberal stupidity: closing refineries, extremely high gas taxes, demanding a special blend of gasoline, carbon taxes, environmental regs, anti oil and gas laws, etc...

This. Spare me the deep concern for liberals who have **** in their own bed and ruined a beautiful state. I absolutely do not wish any physical harm on them. That would be a step too far. But I do hope they have to own the painful economic consequences of the insane policies they have promoted for years and try to hold up as an example for America to copy. Maybe, just maybe... they will learn the error of their ways and reverse course back toward the middle ground. I feel the same way about the loony Europeans.

Doubling fuel cost is going to be bad for all. There are obviously winners but the great majority are losers. Trump needs to declare victory and get the strait opened back up. There will be no regime change without and invasion.

It sucks to be a conservative in a state dominated by liberal politics. No doubt about it. I would move if it were me, but to each their own. Still doesn't change the fact that it's a good thing for liberals to face the economic consequences of their insane policies.

Libs and pearl clutching CMs across the nation always cower with their "both sides" and don't we want the best for all Americans?".

Buffalo chips is all that is to me. I want every single Kamala voter to continue to feel max pain for Bidens inflation and global politics failures.

Eggs as they seemed to be the liberals hill in the beginning. Beef will be difficult now because Trump is trying to save the industry especially in the south, as we speak. Coffee down as is Topo Chico which pretty much rounds out my major food groups. I don't like it but understand that we are trying for a more permanent fix to the ME and SOH. All the bloviating about "understanding geopolitics" means absolutely dick to the vast majority of people. Their wallet is easily visible and having less money to do things with is very in-your-face, daily.

If this doesn't change, regardless of the ramblings of poli-nerds on a college website, it could lead to a shift in peoples' votes. And not in a good way.

You are right. We should ridicule Trump for high gas prices because he didn't want to see Kai nuked on the golf course at Miami one day.

So supporting Trump on stopping Iran is now defending him to the death on all things no matter what? That's quite the take.
