They aren't hidden. They are literally right there on the ****ing door. I've had to tell people NOT to use those use and instead use the power door button above more than the reverse.

I located an article. It described the mentioned problem. You attempted to dispute the claim ignoring the text of the article and claimed it was a Bluetooth issue. It was not a Bluetooth issue. The stranded driver solved the issue by requesting a ride from a friend only after getting cell service 2 miles from the dead car. The ride from the friend was to obtain the key fob from home. Drivers comment: I'm never leaving home without my key fob. Sure it was an old article and I recognize technology changes.

If you can't handle the commentary without getting snippy and condescending then not replying would be satisfactory.

If you take away FSD, ICE is hands down better for long trips. Cost is about the same and based upon my calculations based upon my last long trip, a very fuel-efficient ICE actually costs less per trip, even more so if the price of gas goes down.

EV insurance is higher because if the battery gets damaged -$$$$$$. A relatively minor wreck could cost a crap ton more money. More FSD will make that cost go down.

I still love a manual transmission. None of that paddle shifter crap. That will not be with us (in new cars) much longer.

ICE is also better for towing and trucks (for now).

Well that's what I'm trying to find out. We've been talking about EVs and their issues for years. I wanted to know if the fob and hidden door handle issues were resolved. Unfortunately any questions as to whether Tesla has resolved things is met with hostility. But such is life on TexAgs.

Yes it happened 9 years ago. I replied that standing next to one with Bluetooth makes it a non-issue which is factual and relevant today. This thread isn't' about practically of Tesla Model S's from 10 years go. Techno tried to pass that story off as why they aren't ready now. The 9 year old story has no bearing today. None. Zero. Yet he latched on to it because he's running out of arguments and you dove in without realizing it was irrelevant because you tossed skepticism aside.

Is this really the hill you're going to die against EV's? That an owner that couldn't operate his 10 year old discontinued vehicle is why EV's aren't ready?

Here is a case of someone that died with their dog trapped inside a car in 2015 because the electronic door handles didn't work and he evidently didn't know about the emergency release mechanism because it wasn't intuitively obvious.

The car, a 2007 Corvette. Built 5 years before the first Tesla with similar technology. This isn't an EV vs ICE issue. It is strictly a car design decision and Chevy hasn't changed the Corvette technology yet people want to use this as an anti EV talking point.

My 2010 Impala doesn't have a key hole for the trunk, only a remote-actuated or button-actuated (meaning electronically driven, requiring power) release.

So, not realizing this, I had my battery cables in said trunk. When I had my first issues with the battery, guess what.....couldn't access my cables.

Design flaws abound.

Only if you consider a Corolla Hatch (Hatchback) and a Corolla Estate (Wagon) the same model as the compact. It's akin to Tesla saying a Model 3 and a Model Y are the same model, because they share so many common parts.

Tesla is about the least maintenance and serviced car I have ever had. Between the 3 teslas and about 200K miles, I have taken it into the shop 3 times for minor issues for a grand total of around $1500 (less than one brake job for my BMW X5). Never have taken in for scheduled service.

Bought a 2020 MY and someone crashed into me totaling it at 80K miles.
Replaced it with a 2023 MY.
Bought my wife a MX
Will be getting a MY for my 18 yr old this year as she prepares for college.

Once HW5 comes out, I will be trading in the 2023 MY.
