Why have you bought so many Teslas? They haven't been out that long. Do you operate a fleet of them, or are they crapping out that fast?
Most people are leasing or are rolling negative equity over regardless of ICE or EV. Not saying Medaggie is doing that but what he posted is pretty typical for most Americans.

When I bought my Cadillac 10 years ago, my sales guy told me way back then that 80% of his transactions were leases.
I'm guessing it's 90%+ at this point.

I was a BMW snob before I got a Tesla. But my rule was to never ever keep one past warranty. I have a 2023 GMC AT4 now with an extended warranty that I'll keep for a while. A 2025 Corvette LT1 that is fun, but not sure how long I'll have it. Not driving it or enjoying it nearly as much as I expected to. And the 2026 Model Y that we will keep until the HW5 computer equipped Y's come out in 2027 or 2028.
We rarely keep any vehicle long than 3 to 4 years.

Not even close to #1 here either: https://www.best-selling-cars.com/usa/2026-q1-usa-top-10-best-selling-vehicle-models/
These sources are the 1st two google results for best selling car of 2026.
Your claim that it will continue to be the best selling car after the federal incentives ended is not supported by current data/trends.

I didn't make the claim, I clarified information about it. Medaggie said it was the best selling vehicle worldwide and then you said the Corolla was the best selling vehicle in 2026. Then I said that's a total of several different body styles and would be akin to Tesla counting the Model Y and Model 3 as a singular model. An entirely neutral clarification, and then you got bent out of shape and being overly aggressive about something you have zero knowledge about, as evidenced by the fact you're simultaneously claiming the Corolla is the best selling vehicle and also claiming it wasn't known it was a claim about global sales (F-150 has been the best selling vehicle for half a century), by telling me to take it up with the report. Someone might say that's a case of wadded panties over me giving you a factual statement.nu awlins ag said:hph6203 said:The claim is globally. It was a claim for the total year 2025. You didn't discern between US and globally, you said it was the best seller. All I did was point out that in 2026 it's not then you got your panties in wad.

I was just told on this thread that people just buy b/c of gov incentives. Tsla still has the best worldwide selling car before and will after the incentives are gone.

I responded by saying you've been a real piece of work across multiple threads in this forum, being overly aggressive about stuff you aren't actually tracking the conversation flow of.
It was in fact a claim about worldwide sales. In no world are companies comparing a single quarter worth of sales of vehicles for what is "the best selling", because strategies differ, cyclicality differs:Medaggie said:

I didn't call you out first, you were antagonistic first. You said Corolla was the best selling vehicle. I said the only world in which that is true is when Toyota treats a variety of different body styles as a singular model, which is not the same thing that Tesla does with their Model Y claim. That is not a call out, it's a clarification of the facts. Then you got bent out of shape over that clarification and told me to take it up with the report (antagonistic) and I said you're overly antagonistic.
You: Benign fact, Toyota claims best selling with Corolla.
Me: Benign fact about the nature of that claim.
You: Respond with antagonism.
You don't actually track the discussion on threads, you look for fights. You did it on the Jimmy Kimmel thread where everyone was agreeing with you in principle about Jimmy Kimmel, but were so antagonistic that the entire thread assumed you were a liberal based upon your responses/tone/aggression.

I'm not BMW snob like you're a Tesla snob. I bought on CR recommendation on a model. BMW's are solid depending on what model you purchase. Again labeling me a BMW snob is a bit rude considering you don't know me. Have an awesome day.

They posted this meme in response to you multiple times. You had to tell them you weren't a liberal. In what world did they not think you were? They thought you were because you have a bent towards antagonism even with people who agree with you, which is what happened on that thread over, and over, and over. You should go back and read your responses on this thread and on that thread to do some self reflection about "how did I come across here to a person unfamiliar with me?" You seem to be totally unaware.

The first solid state batteries are entering production in late 2026, so very soon there won't be much reason to buy a gas engine car. 600+ mile range, 0-80% charge in 8 minutes, and the ultra fast and smooth acceleration that EVs are known for delivering = why would you buy anything but an EV? Well, unless you're a lolpoor I guess.
It's still funny to see people here that are still in denial about the future though.
Oh, we're not in denial. We're just … still waiting. Every year we hear about how great EVs are going to be.
Have you test driven one?
I was an EV sceptic, until I drove a Tesla.
Holy smokes, that thing will change your mind. 3 minutes in I was sold. Haven't regretted it.
In 10 years, I haven't met a single Tesla owner that doesn't love their car.
