Regardless, the guy is incompetent with zero evidence because he is fat, wears double breasted suits and worst of all he is also a Trump supporter.

All the skills and qualities that related to install of water treatment systems.

Nah, I pretty much feel that way because of the ****ty work that he did on this thing.

Can you name two things specifically in the application process that he did? "****ty" work on?

No, and I'd bet you can't point out what was done right. For me, that fact that what was applied to the pond is now floating in chunks and no longer adhered to where it was applied is enough.

100% proved my point you don't know why it failed. You can't even give one example of why it failed. Yet we had a subject matter expert come onto this thread and explain why a specific section might have failed.
And what that specific section amounts to as a percentage of the entire job which was minuscule.

Let's not forget that the reflecting pool is now retaining water. If the problems are algae and patchy repairs needed (beyond vandalism) then it sounds like a massive success. It wasn't perfect but nothing rarely is that way either.

"Yes, I know my car is still making that horrendous clattering sound and emitting huge amounts of black smoke as I drive down the road. I also know that I've already paid you multiple times what it should cost to have this fixed. That's OK though. It's not fixed and we've spent a ****ton, but at least maybe I know what's causing it."

This statement is not the truth. Can you source it?

Also, this is more akin to there being some waterspots left after a car wash and you trying to make it seem like the car is totaled.

And can you confirm that will cost a "****ton" to fix? Almost certainly if it is materials or application error, it will be covered by even the most scant of warranties.

If it was crazy America hatin scumbags, then cut funding to Chicago in order to pay for the repairs.

More like, I know my car is now working after it wasnt. It has a couple quarter panels that need sanding and paint. All is good! Thanks for the great work that was pennies on the dollar compared to what everyone else was quoting when they weren't even sure if they could repair it!

Repairing expansion joints every 10-15 years should be in any O&M cost for structures like this (submersed joints). They fail over time due to imperfections or temp/movement cycles, get damaged during cleaning, get damaged by idiots, etc.

I don't know who those people are, but that wording just looks like stuff you'd have seen in 1933 when Hitler was blaming the communists for the Reichstag fire.

Do liberals have any other arguments besides "HITLER!!!?" It's lazy and tiresome.

Fine, since you totally missed the point, since you have allowed your mind to be de-trained to middle school level rhetoric by this juncture, I will use a "left-wing" excoriation of the "right (fascists)" to make the same point...

From 1984:

"The dark-haired woman had flung herself forward at the screen. The speaker had switched to a denunciation of Goldstein and his doctrines... In its hideous extremity less of a speech than a frenzy, a rabid foaming at the mouth... [Goldstein] was advocating freedom of speech, freedom of the Press, freedom of assembly, freedom of thought. Probably time to drain, remove the coating, map cracks, evaluate expansion joints, clean and flush all plumbing, design the proper bubblers, use city water (chlorinated), insure proper circulation, etc. Probably need to expend $$$ to investigate and make a proper forensic report before making final repair designs.

Why are the TDS crowd concerned about this?
  • Cost? Obama spent more in trying to fix it
  • Results? Obama didn't fix it despite spending almost 3X
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the angst about trying to beautify our nation's capital in time for celebrating 250 year anniversary.

The only proper answer is to turn it back into a natural tidal estuary.

DEI hire was definitely the correct choice, it's done so well elsewhere.

Obama used a woke Swedish company with all the right stripes who sunk wooden piers into… tidal basin, swamp.

Then poured lots and lots on concrete on top of it, then painted it DARK GREY, filled it with brackish sewage water and said "ta da".

You think Obama went with cost effective? Only if he got a cut of the savings.

If you were going to pour massive amounts of concrete on top then put 25 million pounds of water on it, then a better retrofit would have been stronger piers, lighter basin material or maybe go with the Lincoln memorial building approach.

For the money Obama spent, we should have received a permanent fix.

The TDS infested know nothings are going to have a lot of crow to eat on this in the end. The people that have accomplished nothing of note in their lives love to spew vitriol and take shots at those that are in the arena and getting things done.

The thread is a reminder of the mentality of those that can't, won't tolerate those who try and do. In Atlas Shrugged terms, it's the loud mouthed moochers response to the producers.
