So from what I gather:... this is the most nothing-burger of a story I've seen in a while, even for the TDS media.
- The Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool had issues.
- Trump wanted to fix the reflecting pool.
- The pool underwent repairs but then started having algae issues.
- In trying to treat the algae, the pool also begins having paint issues.
- Trump says the pool was vandalized, which the media refutes.
- Media bashes Trump for... the repairs not going to plan?
- Turns out vandals did cut up the lining of the pool, causing damages.
- Trump had the reflecting pool damages/issues repaired.
- The reflecting pool issues are now fixed.

There has never been a meme more run into the ground than this one.

Notice how when the video of the reflection pond water looking clear and blue, and the court filings for the sliced liner came out yesterday, the critics evaporated from this thread like the proverbial in the wind.
It's almost like someone told them to stop posting ...
I would say they are too embarrassed to show back up after their ridiculous tantrum, but more likely their work is done and they'll start looking for the next opportunity to go unhinged on Trump.

Fake news. He said it was 350 feet when Jim Acosta of CBS asked him about it. It's going to be a mile long by the end of the week.

Now being reported (by all outlets), that there were two 170 foot cuts.
What is 170 + 170 roughly equal?
Htown? Just wanted to make sure we're all still fact checking what was said....

-The Reflecting Pool has had issues for 100 years
-Algae has existed in the pool since before most of us have been alive and will exist well after we are dead, nature is undefeated
-All concrete cracks and all expansion joints eventually leak
-The Reflecting Pool will always have to be drained to remove algae, duck crap, sediment, and other debris
-Another round of repairs will probably occur in 10 to 15 years with another President that will think they are the one to finally fix things

It seems likely that a day or two after draining the pool and refilling it may be much to soon to determine whether or not the algae problem is fixed. Perhaps a wait of at least a week or two would be more appropriate.

Area load of 100 to 150 psf for water and maybe 150 to 200 psf for concrete. Not that heavy of a bearing pressure on the soil/foundation system.
If it's marshy under there, that's heavy enough. I once lost a couple of tennis shoes walking in the marsh down below my grandpa's pond, and I was less than 100 lbs at the time. I sank down a good two feet in a matter of seconds.

I was told, in no uncertain terms, that there would be no math!!!1

Large concrete structures full of water or other liquids is what I do every workday. I have a pretty good understanding on this subject; fortunately most are behind security fences and do not get the same public scrutiny

It took him three tries to get the correct size, so congrats? Not sure why you think this is some big win for you.

Depending on the size of his feet, a 100 pound kid could be exerting 800 pounds per square foot.

POTUS didn't have a notecard with precise measurement of the cuts within hours of it being discovered and when giving an impromptu press gaggle.
You were very adamant about things that were not so "concrete", so yea its a pretty big L. No worries, not the first and not the last.
I would advise maybe cutting Trump some slack at times but where is the fun in that?
