Yeah.. there were probably a couple of fouls there. Couple of pushes, couple of grabs. But if Spain is going to play the way they have for 115 minutes and rely on the ref to help them out at the end...

I loved the officiating in this match. I wish they were all called like this. A flop was not going to decide this as happens too often and is a big turnoff.

Basically,
1 2 3 4 5 are going to take their PKs, alternating between teams. If no winner, 6 7 8 9 10 11 will take their PKs, alternating between teams, until a winner is decided.
If after that there's still no winner, the rotation starts again.

Just to go through this, only players on the field can participate. If one team were playing shorthanded from cards, you would "reduce to equate" so that the team with extra players reduces their eligible list to match the number of the short team. If it goes that far, GKs would have to kick before recycling the list.

It can. There have been instances where the manager has kept a sub in his back pocket and then used it to replace the goalkeeper just for the shootout.
