Offsides but should have put it in the back of the net anyway

Fouls the referee is calling now, he did not call in the first half.
That is why he has had the problems he has had in the second half.
If you had told me during the yellow card spree that this game would have finished regulation with zero red cards, I would not have believed you.Unthought Known said:MidTnAg said:

Once he started whipping out the cards, he has had no trouble.
never got that 2nd goal from England, and Colombia realized they were still in itjakal0722 said:If you had told me during the yellow card spree that this game would have finished regulation with zero red cards, I would not have believed you.Unthought Known said:MidTnAg said:

I'm not too familiar with Dier, but he has been garbage since coming on

My point was that there would probably have been no "whipping out the cards" if he had called the fouls in the first half as he is calling now.

I disagree completely. He called every foul in the first half. The only thing he could have done differently IMHO is deal with the delay tactics from Colombia. And I don't know what else he could do in 2H. For that 15 minute window, neither team was interested in playing soccer. There are not many international referees who would have done better and many who would have done worse. Irmatov would have been a disaster here. As would have any other CONCACAF referee. The only referee I think who would have handled it better would be Cakir. And that's because he just doesn't care what FIFA thinks or says.MidTnAg said:
