So can someone check my math? If Arsenal beats City next week then Liverpool will clinch the following with a win at Everton. Otherwise we hope for them to stumble against Chelsea or wait for the hth match on July 2.

It just dawned on me that Liverpool is going to go from being the earliest team to ever clinch the title to the latest team to ever clinch the title.

You are correct. I wish Arsenal can pull it off but then you realize David Luiz is still their best central defender, and ManCity can make 5 subs

So Werner officially signed with Chelsea. I'd love to know what happened with him and Liverpool.

I'm curious if Liverpool thought they were going to get him for waaaay less money. I kind of figured Liverpool understood his contract and knew how much he was going to cost. Weird that it just fizzled...

From what I have read, it boils down to the club's current finance philosophy. FSG do not feel like this is a prudent time to make high dollar transfers. The cost of this transfer is also not limited to the buyout clause, Werner is going to be on a salary of 200k/week which would have made him Liverpool's second highest paid player.

I think the figures estimated are around a 100 million investment over the course of his whole contract. For a player that probably was not going to start consistently, I think it is the correct decision.
