ISAK IN, EKITKE OUT. WOW. I'm pretty stunned by this. I would bet Isak isn't going a minute longer than 60, and more likely will be taken out at half. Kinda disappointed Ekitike isn't on the left, but that may take some time. Gosh he's gotta be pissed.

I for sure thought Ekitike would start and Isak would get the last 30. Surprised Bradley isn't starting over Frimpong and Robbo was always getting the nod over Kerkez tonight. Szoboszlai rightfully keeps his place in the team; he is undroppable atm. Macca is the one who makes way; he doesn't seem to be at full strength anyways. Lastly, I thought Mamardashvilli also had a small shout of getting in the starting XI but understand why Alisson keeps his place too.

Atletico is without Julian Alvarez so that should tke most of the sting out of their attack. I expect them to play an even lower block than Burnley....

I've said it before; I really really like Bradley and the way that he plays, but for this team at this moment I think what Frimpong brings and how he plays with Salah is a better fit. Not only the pace but his insistence on staying out wide and providing width. Bradley is more of a cutting edge full-back who can slice you up with runs. A bit of an Andy Robertson understudy if you will. I've also mentioned about Maca, even though I know he's not at full-strength, I think he's the one you drop right now because of his physical profile compared to Gravvy, Szbo and Wirtz.

Ekitke is first off the bench no doubt today.

This. This team still isn't clicking for large portions of games. And YET! And yet this team refuses to give up and keeps putting up victory after victory. 5th game in a row this team scores a winner in the last 10 mins. They just refuse to give up. And the opposing team knows it. Liverpool can smell the fear in their opponents nce the clock strikes the 80th minute; they just shift into a gear other teams do not have.

And pundits like Rio "I'm gonna jet off to Dubai to avoid taxes" Ferdinand and Paul "I just know how to complain" Merson who say we're "lucky" can just eff right off. The game is 90 minutes and Slot has this team fighting to the full extent of it. Just looking at the stats, today was a big step forward in terms of chance creation. The offense is going to take off soon, which is crazy considering we have scored 12 goals in 5 games with things not really clicking.

Just need to stop conceding cheap goals.

There was about a 15 minute period where we dropped Gakpo and let Wirtz play on the left wing (w/ a midfield trio of Szobo, Macca, Gravy). It was probably one of our best spells and Wirtz teed up Mo and Hugo who both missed relatively easy chances. I'd like to see more of Wirtz on that left side, especially with Isak in the game.
