This lineup/formation is nails so far. Best we have looked. But have so many options to play different ways.

I'm still very much out on Gakpo in this iteration of the team. We've discussed it ad nauseam but I just don't think he offers enough variety in attack. He does offer a lot of cover defensively with his size, but he just doesn't do it for me in attack. I personally would give Wirtz some run there to see if you can spark him. I think Wirtz would at least be willing to take a defender on.
Everton been in control since our 2nd goal.
The passing this half has been really poor. No clue why.
Wirtz needs to figure it out. He's spurned lots of chances in his 6 game Liverpool career. I know he needs time but he is making similar mistakes over and over
Wirtz is getting smoked in this league. Looks completely over matched.
Wirtz looks like a guy who doesn't know his role in this team. Part of that is on him but then I think the other part is on Slot and staff. They've gotta be able to use his best abilities as well.
Crappy 2nd half. Completely outplayed and created virtually no threat or chances. But happy to get 3 in the derby any day.
The only thing that matters is the three points and that Tarkowski and Pickford are on the losing end of another match.
I really don't have a problem with that performance at all. Yes I want the offense to click from whistle to whistle, but it's a derby, there will be swings in momentum etc. I thought we defended really well all game; the attack was great for 45-55 minutes; and we completely killed that game off. We also picked up three points.
When we first bought Gravy he struggled too, now he is undroppable. Give Wirtz time, he needs to figure out the speed of the epl game. He won't struggle forever. His touch and movement are elite, he just needs time to gel with the squad
Szboszlai was also pretty poor when he first got here as well. I'm not worried at all. It may take a bit but I'm not worried. He's beyond talented.

League cup today at 2:00. No clue how to watch, but I expect to see a B- or C+ team today. Isak needs another 45-60, and I expect to see Frimpong at RB to gain fitness as well, but outside of that I doubt we see any real starting players. Maybe Curtis Jones in midfield and Andy at LB, Leoni and Gomez at CB. Got a feeling slot is REALLY going to limit starters minutes these comps this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wirtz get significant minutes, build his confidence up on what should be an inferior side. Match is at home so hopefully we can put the tie to bed early and give valuable minutes to the fringe players.

Not great not bad so far. Bout what I expected. Frimpong with an absolute shocker while Leoni looks CLASS. Chiesa and Isak were absolutely lethal on that goal.
Isak off the mark but that goal was all down to Chiesa and his work ethic. Well done by the Italian. Seems he has turned over a new leaf with the start of this season. Long may it continue
