Blair has a sprained wrist which may be why Pop is keeping him out.

From the spurs facebook: "Timmy just got a small sprain they said the doctor came out and gave thumbs up."

Spurs letting the Warriors make it a little interesting but this one's about over. 57-13 and 7 ahead of LA with 11 games to play.

Sean Elliott was saying Duncan will probably miss 1-2 weeks per the team docs. Obviously it is still way early, but he didn't seem very concerned.

If anything, the silver lining is that Duncan's knees and his right ankle will get rest while his left ankle heals.

Also, Novak keeps getting more minutes lately and he is producing bigtime. He is absolutely sick from long range.

Splitter also did well tonight with more playing time. Those two guys might work their way into the playoff rotation as situational substitutions.

James Anderson has disappeared and it doesn't look like he will contribute the rest of this season. Pop isn't even playing him.

The spurs have a bit of a tough stretch coming up, playing the nuggets, blazers, and grizzlies on the road followed by the blazers and celtics at home. Without timmy we may go 3-2 or even 2-3 over the 5 game stretch, but it's not too much to worry about. Even 1-4 would still put the spurs at 58-17 with a relatively tame final stretch to finish it out (save for a game vs LAL).

Like I said before, the west #1 is a virtual lock, all that's left is clinching the league #1.

the league and west #1 are virtually the same. the Lakers could pick up a game on the spurs, as could the celtics since they both play. the other team 6.5 games back of the spurs is the bulls, who they don't play.

so the west #1 and the league #1 are virtually the same too.

I worry more about the Bulls catching up than the Lakers. They're only 6 behind in the loss column and end with a very favorable schedule. Not to mention we won't get another crack at widening the gap against chicago.

Lakers aren't catching up.

Splitter looking really good. He plays pretty good defense 14 rebounds, 3 steals, 10 pts 2 assists!

I hope this injury gives Splitter the much needed playing time. I think hes gonna be really good in the near future.

How in the hell do you think anyone could possibly catch the Spurs at this point?

With only 12 games left, the Spurs would have to go 6-6 or worse in order to piss HCA away.

Not only that, but Chicago would have to go undefeated to finish the season. (not impossible, but highly improbably in itself)

Also of note, the Spurs have not gone worse than 7-3 in any 10 game stretch this season.

Duncan this year isn't that big of a scoring option for them. In fact, Splitter can replace a lot of Duncan's offense with a few low post moves every game and an occasional put back. Duncan doesn't do much more than that offensively other than knock down a few jumpers, but the Spurs have Dyess and Bonner for that.

I think they will be fine. If they can finish this upcoming 3 game road trip at 2-1, that would be something to feel good about from a depth standpoint. Next 5-6 games pit the Spurs against teams with good bigs.

The Spurs have been playing 5 on 8 for the entire 2nd half. These 3 officials calling the game are consistently some of the worst in the entire league.

Spurs will lose any playoff games officiated by:

Short big eyed black man
Tall skinny white guy that looks like Novak (no 14)

Crazy game. Denver definitely got some home cookin tonight but the Spurs execution down the stretch was terible. I thought Pop could have called multiple timeouts at times to get a good shot but instead we settled for 3 step back 20 ft jumpers by tony and manu. bad shot selection at the end. Denver is hot though they are playing great. No way they beat the Spurs if the Spurs are with Duncan or at home.

It was our vets that hurt us last night. Parker and Manu both took very poor shots down the stretch.

Denver shot almost 51% from the field and over 57% from 3. Considering everything else going against the Spurs with Duncan out and the officiating the only way this loss matters is if the Spurs take it the wrong way which isn't going to happen. If anything I think they are miffed at themselves for blowing it down the stretch.

Denver also did an excellent job of keeping the Spurs off balance tonight. They caught the Spurs off guard a lot with the team being so new, they particularly were giving Manu fits from time to time.

The Spurs shot fairly well until the fourth quarter. I'm not too worried about the loss. I'm fairly sure Pop will focus on the bad shot taking in the fourth and we'll take care of Portland on friday.

Most epic choke in Spurs history. Up by 4 and the ball with 35 seconds and they lose.

3 straight turnovers by Tony, Manu, and then Novak (WTF was he doing throwing it in anyway?)

Ugly as ****. Portland didn't deserve the win. Neither did SA.

It's beginning to look like this team might not have what it takes. Should have won easily without Duncan tonight.

should have just thrown the ball into somebody's legs and go to OT
