I'm beginning to think you're a simpletard sock--Spurs fan version...since you never respond to the actual content of a post but continue your delusions

Good win tonight in perhaps the most important game of the last 6. 3-1 will lock a one seed.

Lakers down 5 with two minutes left.

Lakers lose. Spurs lock the conference with the next two, and if they do so, can rest their starters for a week before the playoffs. We're in good shape.

With the Lakers loss the Spurs just need to win the next 2 home games (Sac, Utah) to clinch #1 seed making the LA game meaningless.

Nice to see the Spurs close one out in the 4th. I think they had 31 points for the quarter.

Not to mention that LA still has away games at Sacramento and Portland.

LA has started to look mortal now. With only 4-5 games left, you'd think they might let up since the top spot is nearly out of reach.

Hopefully that knocks them out of the groove they had going towards the playoffs.

Kobe looked awful last night. You know he's going to close out the season strong. Also, Hayward is gonna be a stud.

what do you care aggie, you gave up on the team already.

Seriously, go jump in a deep lake.

Just because I (still) don't believe the Spurs will win it all doesn't mean I don't want them to.

Your logic is like a 3 year old homer's logic. Just because I love following Aggie football doesn't mean I have to sit here and pretend we are frontrunners for the MNC every year. If I point out valid reasons why it's unlikely we win the MNC, it doesn't mean I can't enjoy it if we do.

I have to put up with a bunch of punk ass Laker lovers everyday. If I had my way, that franchise would never win another game, and the Spurs would win it every odd year and in 2012 to scare people into thinking the Mayans were correct.

I don't think the Spurs will last until late June this year, and I am not the only Spurs fan who believes so. Is it conceivable that they could? Of course. Is it likely? No, not in my opinion.

But I will be ragging on Simpletard with the rest of everyone and enjoying every bit of it if they somehow pull it off.

Feel free to ignore my comments and carry on with your unwavering belief and support. And, for what little it's worth, I will be the first to "ttt" my thread if/when the Spurs put another trophy in the case this season. I have no problem with being wrong. It happens more often than not.

You won't really be in much of a position to.

Alright, that buys you a little cred.

It's not about the fact that you don't think they can win it, it's the fact that you're so sure they won't that you start an "offseason thread" before the playoffs have even started.

Just don't let me see you talking about going all the way after we win the first series.

Spurs win #60 tonight. After a slow 1st half, they lit up the scoreboard with 124 points which included a 41 point 3rd quarter.

Halfway home. A Lakers loss and we clinch the one seed tonight.

Not very likely though, they're playing golden state.

The Spurs apparently started a fad.

Dallas has dropped 4 straight and now is hanging on to the 3 spot by only 1 game over OKC. Not sure what to make of that.

Even if Dallas ends on a skid, I still think I'd rather see OKC in round 2 if I'm in the Spurs locker room.

Have you seen the Lakers' score? 30-30 with 4 minutes left in the half. Dang.

Lakers losing to Golden State 61-50 with 5:30 to go in the 3rd.

If this pans out, I may have to take credit for starting the rented mule thread that turned things around.

So what is the Spurs' strategerie assuming LA loses tonight? Do you shut down the starters completely for the final 3 games?

I'm thinking so.

Not completely. Probably will play the bench a lot more, but I do think Pop wants to stay ahead of Chicago.
aggie_2001_2005
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I dunno, I've always thought it wouldn't be that bad to have games 3-5 at home in the finals. Especially against a young team like the Bulls. If you could get one of the 1st two games in that situation, you've probably got it made in the shade.
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I honestly prefer the 3 middle home games myself.
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
But of course, let's not forget the Spurs aren't gonna sniff the finals this year.

Agree w/ DC. More important to focus on getting out of the West. Nothing against the Bulls.

I agree as well. I think Pop gives them some good rest and keeping ahead of the Bulls isn't the top concern. Plus, the Bulls don't have an easy schedule left.

Bulls remaining games:

Boston
@ Cleveland
@ Orlando
@ Knicks
Nets

Could very well go 2-3.
sharkenleo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Spurs final 3:

vs Utah
@ Lakers
@ Phoenix

Provided the Bulls win out and the Spurs go 2-1, there'd be a tie for first. The season series is 1-1, and I have no idea what the next tiebreaker is.

I don't see the Bulls winning out. Wins against Utah and Phoenix gets us the 1 seed, most likely. None of our games will mean anything to either team though, so it's tough to know what'll happen.
