MassAggie isn't happy unless the Spurs are struggling. That dude is the most pessimistic fan I've ever seen.

Agree. Him and Orlando Ayala from the Football Other board would get along great.

Spurs are 20-3 for the first time in franchise history.

Do I think it means anything at this point? No.

Does it mean more for the Spurs than any other team in the league? Absolutely. This team only improves in the playoffs. It's just a question of health at this point.

21-3 now. Manu hits game-winner at the buzzer against the Bucks. Did blow an 18-point lead but, nonetheless, another win.

A W is a W is a W, I'll take it. Not happy that we blew an 18 point lead to a an under .500 team though. That shouldn't be happening.

Precisely. Kobe agrees with you.

I get what you are saying, but technically they didn't blow it. They won the game. In an 82 game season, against other professionals, you're going to have runs like that. I'm pretty encouraged by the fact that they held on to win.

And the Bucks just beat the Mavs in Dallas. They've been playing well lately.

Now 24-3. Have won 21 straight when scoring over 100 points. Longest in the NBA.

Where have the SOS naysayers gone?

Last 10 their SOS #4 in the league, and they have gone 9-1.

I said it on the other thread too....I'll wait until they are about 30-5 before I start to think this will lead to anything. The Lakers have still got to be the clear-cut favorites, and until the Spurs make a few statements against them and some of the league's other elite teams, I'm going to just consider this a "nice run", and nothing more.

You might start to think this will lead to something.

Spurs are 28-4 and they took it to the Lakers this week. They just need to go 2-1 in the next three games to hit your magic mark.

Just take Charles's word for it that the Spurs are the 2nd best team in Texas.

Now 29-4. Go Spurs Go!! And Dallas loses again without the Dirkster.

They don't need to. I've seen all I need to see. The Spurs have to be the west favorites at this point.

If they were doing it the "same old way", I'd be skeptical. But they look like a completely different team. They are finally playing the same up-tempo style that the rest of the NBA has been playing since '06, and they are doing it without sacrificing too much on the defensive end.

ALSO, George Hill is starting to do what they brought him in to do....replace Bruce Bowen. The guy has put together some very nice individual defensive games.

Four games in 6 days this week, 3 of which are on the road...it'll be tough test so I'll be paying attention. At this point they just need to avoid the injury bug, so Pop's rotations during a tight schedule are probably going to be interesting. Splitter, Quinn, Udoka etc.

San Antonio's last three wins came against the Lakers, Mavericks and Thunder. All three entered the game with a winning percentage over .650. It's the third time in team history that the Spurs won three straight games all against opponents with a winning percentage of .650 or better. The two other instances happened late in the 1998-99 season.

Best Spurs team I've ever seen, bar none.

You could tell where the Spurs were going when they beat the Jazz, twice, very badly towards the end of that season. The Jazz were the only REAL competition in the west that year and had a history of putting the Spurs in their place up until that point.

That was an impressive tear the Spurs went on at the end of that year. The current one is even MORE impressive.

For me, this kind of talk definitely gets reserved for June. Too many new players to judge how well the playoffs will go.

I'll take it as well. An ugly, tough-it-out win last night in Indiana, but a win nonetheless. And I mostly liked what I saw in Boston in that narrow loss. We can hang with any team in the league.

I'm not gonna sit here and say that this is a championship team with zero weaknesses, but up to this point in the season, they've proven to be the most potent Spurs team this decade.

Now to see if they can keep pace after the break. Scary (for other teams) to think the Spurs usually get in playoff form later in the season.

haha the Spurs pull off another one against Minni. I'm worried about tomorrow. I think the TWolves are getting pretty pissed off about having a 15 (or whatever) game losing streak to SA...

Whew. Close one. Not a particularly impressive win, but a road win nonetheless. 33-6
