The Manu airball followed by his foul took it from a 4 pt game to an 8 pt game and pretty much lost this one for us tonight.
They never intended to win tonight.
I'd like to see a little run just to make Lillard and Aldridge play the rest of the game.

Mills hits our second 3 of the game with under 8 in the 4th.
They aren't missing and we are getting worked. I can't remember the last time the Spurs got a call going to the basket.

I'm putting on my tinfoil hat. Coaches agreed Portland would win this one for fans to celebrate and businesses to get a boost. Same for SA on Wed night. Win win for both. Just kinda blows if you suffered the idiocy that is a bunch of drunkards high fiving each other and thinking their team is really that good. Lol...the garbage squad played the entire 4th. Nah. They should be excited. They had a great season and potential for future teams. But don't feel like you beat down Michael Jordan just bc someone plowed through Matt Bonner and got the and 1.

While I don't know that a loss, and more wear on creaky legs (looking at Manu especially, but also Tim) is ever truly a good thing, there is something to the idea that things were coming too easy in this series and we may not have been in the right frame of mind for the WCF if we had coasted to another blowout and sweep. We need the crisp offensive efficiency AND the gritty defense and physical play to make a run at this thing. We were getting by mostly on ball movement and shooting in games 2 and 3, and that's not enough against OKC or Miami.
Exactly, we need losses sometimes for our guys to keep focused, for whatever reason, and I think Pop understands that better than anyone. Probably figured a blowout loss would wake them up more than he possibly could.
And I also think there's a sweet spot between no rest, and too much rest where rust stars to settle in. Three or four days off is probably better than a week.

I agree Brian. I think too much rest is a bad thing, especially when it comes to a team that depends on rhythym and ball movement and not athleticism.
I sadly fell asleep after the first quarter, so Ill shoulder part of the blame for this loss, but were we down quite a bit most of the game or were we always in striking distance? Looking at the minutes played, it looks like we gave up really early.

We were within a couple pretty much the entire first half. The lead didn't get to double digits until midway through the 3rd quarter or so. Even then we fought back to within 4 or 5. Blazers just shot lights out, Manu missed everything (literally) all game, and we looked bored.
