TP is a definite hall of famer. It's for all of basketball, including international merit, not just the NBA

TP doesn't have a very long international resume since he has been with the Spurs since he was a teenager. He does have a Gold, Silver and Bronze in EuroBasket, but has nothing from the Olympics and nothing from the Euro leagues (at least the adult ones.) He did have a #1 hit in France, though. So there is that.

I still don't think Tony is a HOFer. I think Manu is a slam dunk because of his international resume.

Baynes' dunk tonight.

So Hall of Fame then?

I wouldn't put him in.

Tony is a hall of farmer when he is done in the league

Hell no but he doesn't have anywhere near the resume Parker does statistically

Tony will be in the Hall when he's done. Three rings, a bunch of Euro hardware, and one of the five best winning percentages in NBA history.

I'm sorry you don't like admitting there are three Hall of Famers on the court for San Antonio, but that's what is happening. If there is ever an NBA only hall of fame, MAYBE just maybe he doesn't make it in on the first try.

Frenchie McWonderbutt is a HOFer. Not even a question.

Both have been All-NBA three times. Chauncey has also been all-defense twice. Both have been Finals MVP. Parker was a better scorer, Billups was a better defender. Parker's peak scoring season was 22ppg. Billups was 19.5. Parker's peak was 7.7APG, Billups was 8.6. Billups was a much better three point shooter, Parker better at scoring in the lane. Parker Career PER 19.1, Billups 18.8. Billups peak 23.6, Parker peak 23.4. Billups has 120.8 Win shares in 1043 games, Parker has 96 win shares in 940 games. Translates to .176 win shares per 48 minutes for Billips and .150 per 48 minutes for Parker.

Their statistical resume is a lot closer than you would think. Parker obviously has three titles to Billups one, but Parker also spent his entire career with Duncan and Pop, while Billups has a random assortment of teammates and coaches.

Tony Parker is only 31. If he plays at roughly 80 percent at his current clip for the next couple years, he will easily hit the 20k point plateau in the next 3-4 years.

You're going to tell me a 20k point (top 35 ish), 6k assist (top 30) player isn't going to make the Hall of Fame based only on his NBA merit???

A single Eurobasket win in 2013 = a bunch of Euro hardware? Or are you counting his under-16 and under-20 France stuff?

FIBA EuroBasket MVP (2013)
FIBA Europe Player of the Year Award (2013)
2× Euroscar Award (2007, 2013)
All-Europeans Player of the Year (2013)

A gold, silver, and bronze Eurobasket medal, and just for fun, an u-18 gold medal too.

All that hardware must be bull**** though, right? Cause you take pictures so your opinion means triple that of everyone else.

Parker's got 1120 NBA games under his belt, plus one olympics and a half dozen EuroBasket thingys. Minutes matter more than age.

If Parker averages 95 [reg season+playoffs] games/year for the next 4 years, he is at 1500 games. This puts him in rare company. That's more than Duncan has now. Only Parker's game relies on his explosiveness. Guys that rely on their explosiveness tend to not age super well once that explosiveness starts to expire.

I'd love to see him hit a bunch of milestones, but I am thinking when Timmy/Pop/Manu all walk out together in a year or two, Tony might not be too far behind them.

It's cute how you ignore the 20k point / 6k assist remarks and then say I use ****ty arguments. Those are pretty historical numbers. Only a handful of players have pulled that off. He should reach that easily by 34-35.

Go hate elsewhere. You just watched Dirk, Harden, and Dwight Howard all get knocked out of the playoffs and you're trying to downplay the one looking for a fourth ring.

It is cute that you ignore exactly why I said you are using ****ty arguments and twist it to something else. Again, another use of ****ty arguments.

So you are upset and saying I am ignoring I stats he could theoretically reach? Ok.

6000 assists puts him top 30, but certainly doesn't guarantee enshrinement. There are 10 players that qualify for the HOF that have over 6k assists that aren't there.

20k points is great, but doesn't guarantee enshrinement, either. Or at least not quickly. Ice had 20k and it took him years to get in. Tom Chambers isn't in yet, either.

Parker's career so far is very similar to Billups. I don't think either should be in based on their NBA accomplishments.

But, they will probably put him in. If they are letting in guys like James Worthy, I don't see why they wouldn't let in Parker. BBHOF isn't exactly trying to be exclusive like Baseball.

You realize I am a Spurs fan, right? I mean, I know you aren't the quickest, but I have been on here supporting them since Texags started.

Exactly my point.

But then again, Mitch Richmond, James Worthy, Guy Rodgers, Bernard King, Ralph Sampson, and Chris Mullin have all made it in the last couple years, why not let everyone in that had a good year or two. Speaking of having a good year or two, Bill Walton is a HOFer.

I think if they are letting in Mitch Richmond and Ralph Sampson, you have opened the floodgates for a lot of players that probably deserve it way less than TP.

I always thought the NBA had the hall of fame. Is that not correct? Why whould anyone care what these guys did overseas? Whatever the case may be, Ill never take someones international success into account when deciding someone is worthy of the hall of fame over here.

But, I think Tony Parker has the resume to be one. The only thing holding him back is he doesnt create buzz like other players. He doesnt draw attention to himself. Lets not forget that along with those championship rings, he also has a finals MVP.

Does anyone else hold your breathe everytime Leonard has the ball on a fast break. He has no lateral movement ability. Hes just a charge running down the court, all it takes is one person to step in front of him from 20' away.

On a serious note, Leonard was aggressive tonight and looked great! Wasnt shy about shooting the ball from anywhere, and when he had the smaller guy on him, he played with supreme confidence on the offensive end.

Bayne was huge tonight! I keep wishing he would play in the mask though.

Splitter played incredibly well on defense again tonight I thought. The one difference you see in the Spurs bigs vs most everyone else around the league: we hardly leave our feet. Everyone gets their body into the player and goes straight up not leaving the floor for the 2-3 pump fakes and moves. I thought Aldridge, despite putting up some numbers, felt nonexistent tonight.

It's the basketball HOF, not NBA. That's why college players and coaches also get in. It's just that Americans run the HOF so the NBA has greatest influence.

I'm expecting the Spurs to come out and somewhat convincingly win games 1 & 2 at home. The Mavs played them very hard and had multiple guys shooting lights out at times. When the Spurs finally found their A game it was a blowout. I don't think Portland will play as well as the Mavs and I think the Spurs carry the game 7 momentum into this series.

Portland is good, but I think San Antonio will show the difference between good and elite.

Because his career is pretty much identical to Chauncey Billups at this point and most people think Chauncey isn't getting into the HOF.

Except the part about Chauncey only have 1 ring to Tony's 3... and the part about how Chauncey has changed teams 9 times... or that he was used as trade bait for Carmelo Anthony... But other than that, yeah, they are the same!

Those extra rings had something to do with Parker playing with the GOATPF and top 3 coach ever. Something Chauncey didn't have.

Finals MVPs mean a lot more than rings. Kerr, Horry, and FIsher aren't getting in.
