Then Kornet Blocks Reaves, Fox gets the floater over 3 guys that are all kind of sort of playing defense in a very general sense, they roll out and almost get it stolen then the steal and the easy bucket by Barnes because the Lakers are just too lazy to get back. Then another steal on sloppy play by Reaves (and really great read by Vassell off ball) and Luke had the chance at the heave, but more importantly, the Lakers went to halftime with multiple turnovers in a row.
I'm fully prepared for Luka to get calls like game 6 in 2002 in the 3rd quarter though

Wasn't easy for Devin and Keldon to adjust to their roles changing, but both are playing really great winning basketball now.
Even tonight when Devin's shot isn't falling, he is active on defense and leading breaks.

It's why I didn't understand the talk about how Castle+Fox+Harper can't fit together.
I was saying last year or the year before that rim pressure was going to become the new 3pt shot. And our three are elite at it.
I really never expected to see Castle primarily run the point when he and Fox are in there, but it does make a lot of sense. Castle's strength is getting to the rim and when he is making simple passes, he is really solid at distributing. Fox has been way better than expected playing off ball.

It's a classic case of getting multiple guys on the court that see the game well which makes everything easy offensively.
The fact that they all attack the rim forces rotations, but the real x factor here is that they are all comfortable making the right pass if they can't score it themselves. Not a lot of forced shots.
Hoping like Van Gundy said that we get Wemby back for the OKC game even if he's on a minutes restriction.

Rim pressure is different than just having players that pass well. Rim pressure that we are creating breaks down defenses much more than say a hub-type player that passes well like Sengun or Sabonis. But like with Sabonis, a player that passes well doesn't necessarily make you a better team, even if it might make some things more easy on the offense. For instance, the Lakers have a negative on-off when LeBron, Reaves, and Doncic all share the floor together, because of what we saw last night. Those three can't or won't defend and other teams torch them at such a high rate. They do get easy buckets for themselves, but as we saw last night, they get easy buckets for everyone else.

This is the real thing, we aren't forcing things, we are converting at really high rates. Castle is shooting 76% at the rim, Fox is at 69% and Harper is 68%. As an added bonus, Keldon is at 71%. They are breaking down defenses, converting at high rates, and it is leading to easy shots for Devin, Barnes, and Julian.
Castle+Harper+Fox are averaging 39 drives per game. Wemby adds another 8 and Keldon 5. Going to be exciting to see what the team can do when fully healthy. I think we see a lot of pace pushed with Wemby as trailer with open threes at the top of the arc.
Jeff McDonald has been hinting that Wemby will play after this game.
Had the Spurs lost today, they would have a 5 day break. Since they won, it will only be a 3-day. But that should be enough for Wemby to come back and he seems to be hinting that is what will be happening.
He nailed the Castle/Harper returns as well.
