Yeah, I'm not sure how much the league can really hurt them. Take away picks they don't have? They should void Kawhi's contract, but that probably helps the Clippers and Kawhi would just sign with the Lakers for the minimum.

I would void Kawhi's contract after the date of when you can be on a team to be on their playoff roster so he can't go tip the scales somewhere. Suspend Ballmer a year, fine him and the Clippers the maximum and take away whatever picks they have.

But Silver is pretty nutless so I bet nothing major happens. I'm sure other similar deals have happened (liek Dirk turning down $92M from the Lakers to take $25M with the Mavs) that the other owners don't want to have exposed.

I said before the season, I think that Silver waits until after ASB and trade deadline. Void Kawhi's contract after the date he can join another team for the playoffs so he can't change the balance of the league. Max penalties for the Clippers. Yeah, hope he's tired after playing 40 minutes in the loss last night.

He's such a good player and we don't have an ideal defender for him while Sochan sucks and Bryant hasn't reached his final form yet.

Hopefully Castle can stop NAW. Last time we played them, NAW went off, but we didn't have Wemby, Castle, or Harper and we still pulled out the win behind Fox, Keldon, and JuJu.

San Antonio has installed one of the NBA's more aggressive pressure defenses when much of the league is deviating from that style.

Coming into this season, teams obsessed over pace and in a way they hadn't in recent history. Yes, coaches declare every training camp that they want to play fast. Each year, the league's average pace in October is higher than it is in any other month. The second-fastest month is November. And so on.

Coaches were even more committed to the concept after watching the Indiana Pacers, who lived on the run, sprint to the NBA Finals last season. Styles changed defensively, too. Over the past few seasons, defenders started picking up ball handlers farther and farther away from the basket.

And then there's the Spurs, the one defense that has dialed up its press. And it's not just with Castle.

Through the end of November, San Antonio was pressing on 20 out of every 100 possessions. Since that average is up to 27, third in the league over this time. The increase in pressure has coincided with the return of De'Aaron Fox, another 94-foot energizer. Rookie guard Dylan Harper is hounding guys who hope to bring the ball up, too.

The Spurs' three-headed monster at point guard was supposed to be a logjam. Instead, it's become the greatest supposed problem in the NBA.

San Antonio is 18-7 and ahead of schedule. Third-year sensation Victor Wembanyama is now back from injury. The role players are thriving. Fox, Castle and Harper aren't just meshing offensively they're also providing a stream of ball pressure that will look even better once Wembanyama, who was sidelined for most of this pressing uptick, is anchoring the middle.

Obviously Wemby is going to be a generational, once in a lifetime type defender. But to me this is his value - he will allow you to play a style of defense that likely no other player in the league can unlock.

Closest thing would be Gobert but he could be exploited in the playoffs out on the perimeter and game planned out by the right coaching staff.

That won't work with Wemby. And that allows the rest of the defense to be much more aggressive.

NBA is also pushing gaming companies for changes to prop bets involving individual players, such as:

Yeah, very few teams have an answer to our lane penetration. Okongwu is an awful rim protector, which makes it even more befuddling that they picked Risacher over Sarr.

They have pockets of good offense with no defense (Trae, Okongwu, Kennard, Krejici) pockets of good defense with no offense (Daniels, Gueye) and two good players (NAW, JJ.)

I really think they should pull the trigger on using the Pelicans pick + Kristaps for a star. This will be their 6th loss in 8 games with their only wins against Philly (with no Maxey) and the Wizards.
