Having the season start on a thursday afternoon in Arlington when we're the defending champs somehow seems both an absolute affront and somehow fitting.

Just win, baby. Just win.

We've got 81 on the road this year. Might as well get a trip to arlington out of the way before August rolls around.

very interesting the schedule vs. the Rangers this year.

after April 1st...the 'stros will only have 6 more games in Arlington.

and the Astros and Rangers do not play at all in August or September.

season series will be over July 29th.

it's the Mariners that the 'stros get a heavy dose of in the final 2 months

I feel bad. We'll basically eliminate them from contention in the first month or so. But let's be real, they're not in contention for the west. They're locked in for mediocrity until they sell everyone off and reboot.

Just look at like this....

It's all in the name of convenience for their season ticket holders. They won't have a reason to go to that shlthole during the dogs days of summer.

It's doing them a huge favor

I don't blame them. Going to regionals and supers for a weekend is a grind. I can't imagine 80% of the home games being like that.

I don't feel bad, at all. Is there something wrong with me? Nope.

Love watching Biggio in the stands jumping up on each homer...

Yuli's reaction as he hit his HR (the :55 mark) was awesome.

My only quibble is they needed to add Correa's antics at the end of the game...him jumping on the field, waving his arm and then putting his finger up in jubilation was incredible.

Kershaw's reaction to Yuli's HR was like WTF just happened?

I will give the Dodgers credit. Losing a WS game that way would have ripped the heart out of most every team. They got off the deck and won the elimination game 6. That took intestinal fortitude.

The Dodgers are really, really good. The Astros are just better.

The best reaction was Morrow when Springer took him deep. He never turned around and just stared off to the side while Springer ran the bases.

Another reminder, ATTSN is showing WS Game 5 tonight at 7 PM (entirety!)

Morrow's line was 0.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 HR on 6 pitches.

Roberts just abused his pen. Brutally abused.

So with Opening Day tomorrow it's time to switch out the lawn flag.

Do I fly the WS Champion flag I have or do I just fly the rainbow Astros flag I flew all last season?

I'm thinking the normal flag until next week when they come home for the banner and ring ceremonies then back to the normal for the remainder of the year.

Do exactly what you said, do not change from what you did last year.

Game 5 was the best game ever. Just incredible the back and forth.

The stros hit some monster bombs in that game. Only correas moon shot wall scrapper could be called a cheapy. Prodigious shots

Verlander at the end is great...pure exhaustion and Reddick putting his arm around him.

That was such an incredible team and series...now lets do it again!!!!

I noticed that too.

Looked like that's the moment it hit him he'd be pitching Gm 6 for a chance to win a WS.

By "one last viewing" you mean replaying 5 times consecutively, right?

One last viewing before the season starts

My grandfather (class of '69) died the Friday of that weekend from a farming accident. He took me to my first Astros game in 2002, and he's the main reason I've been a fan ever since. He used to get me personally signed cards from guys like Berkman, Biggio, Larry Dierker, and Jose Cruz and I totally took it for granted. Knowing he couldn't see us win it all tore me up. And despite this being the only team I've ever truly cared about, I couldn't have cared less about winning at that point. I got back to College Station from Houston that Sunday night, and reluctantly decided to watch game 5 just to get my mind off everything.

All that to say... if I ever needed a Game 5, it was that night. I sat in my apartment alone just screaming my head off every time we scored. The Altuve 3-run homer has to be my favorite Astros moment ever. As if it wasn't everyone's favorite game already, this one couldn't be any more special to me. Hopefully by the time I see my gramps again, we'll have a few more championships to talk about.

Didn't Rich Hill give up four earned runs in six pitches? I hate to say anything negative about that game, but that was truly one of the epic bullpen meltdowns of all time.

Dodgers with a four run lead with Kershaw on the mound - what were the odds that any team could have come back? Way less than 1%? The Astros had a very, very special team. And yeah, everyone's back.
