what happened? It wasn't green a few hrs ago, about a 10% swing.

I've bought this $32-34 and sold above $45 for a few cycles. It just missed my buy order before blasting off. I outsmarted myself.

that was pretty wild. if nothing else, this is a fun stock to watch right now. MOASS be damned. There's some exposures being unwrapped and its very interesting.

Spider man is, but hardly any other movies are.

There was a podcast I was listening to earlier this week and it was an interesting take on what's going to happen to AMC. Basically, movie industry based on current trends is going to move to mega movies only showing in theaters, the remaining movies are going to get pushed straight to digital release (HBO/Prime/Neflix/etc). It was kind of alarming as what they are saying is it's going to deeply impact stocks like AMC because outside of Spider-Man, there is no other revenue coming in. Will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Below link is to this week's box office sales. None of the other movies released this week are above ~$15 million. Spider man is at $385 million. Kinda proves their theory - unless its a blockbuster, people aren't going to the movies. What that means to me is this little run right now is good, but I'd be getting out of AMC until the dust settles.

Theater releases will trail streaming.

I expect streaming release prices to increase, it's still too good of a deal to watch a movie with a family of 4 or 5 at home for only 20-30$.

Theaters have been pivoting to be more of a whole experience with luxury seats, and food service, etc. becoming more a date night experience for young couples instead of family.

I don't see how AMC can pivot quickly enough to see revenue growth when their service just isn't needed anymore for movie distribution.

Depends on the movie quality. We saw Spider-Man twice and both times, it was packed. Matrix and West Side Story…not so much.

I do think long term, HBO Max is a travesty for the theater industry.
