10 red flags and 100% DNFs. The carnage would be epic.

I absolutely love waking up to Monaco on racing's greatest day, but I've never felt more in favor of not coming back or doing something very drastic, which would likely include a different car all together, to enhance the experience there. It's so bad at this point.

I honestly think that if there wasn't the history, prestige, and spectacle surrounding Monaco, it would get dropped from F1 in a heartbeat.

The only pass of the whole race, was Lance Stroll on Hulkenberg

FWIW I have a friend that was there this year and it seems the access to getting F1 autographs is pretty easy if you know what you are doing. I knew F2/F3 access is easy cause their paddock is far and they have to walk through public roads too.

Race might suck but based on all that I'd love to go next year lol

Need smaller cars, but until there is a massive leap forward in battery/hybrid technology the cars are not going to get much smaller.

I wondered if you could change the layout by using Rue Grimaldi instead of Boulevard Albert sorta like this:

But in actually looking at the streets they are just too narrow to feasibly run cars through them, especially if Lance Stroll decides to hit someone. Plus I have no idea where you would start the race from. You'd be so far removed from pit lane.

This is probably the only way they could do it, in earnest. Issues with this are 1) you remove the most famous corner of the track and 2) speeds would be quite high entering the chicane.

Edit: They could lengthen the backstraight a little too but I'm not convinced this would really help enough:

The thing is, Boulevard du Larvotto is a partially elevated roadway. The only way to transition to Boulevard Louis II and the tunnel is via a single track offramp that has apartments maybe 10 ft from the sidewalk. And at least one level of apartments is below the roadway as it descends from Larvotto.

Its just a cursed track given the size of the cars and the lay out of the city. I think most people who go to the race, even care about watching the race.

Make it a heritage race: any car that qualified prior to 2006 is allowed on the grid. Or pick a specific era/formula to race under (i.e.- 2000-2005, 1994-1999, etc.)

All of these suggestions are starting to make Monaco sound like the Pro Bowl of F1. Hopefully it achieves a better fate.

I want them to bring back V10s, or at least V8 cars. Bringing them back for Monaco would prove to FIA that there is high fan and driver interest. Maybe that gets the ball rolling on shifting the formula back towards NA engines and away from the obsession with hybrid drivetrains and "sustainable" fuels.

Totally agree. Bring back the noise! No one outside of the elites gives a **** about hybrid powertrains.

As far as fixing Monaco goes, why not just make whoever wins quali on Saturday the race champion and then have some sort of exhibition race on Sunday? Watching quali around that place is impressive but the circuit is unfixable as far as racing goes.

Didn't really like the F1 Academy show. I think it will capture new audiences but if you follow the series weekend after weekend then it's just very meh. It's like 80% Bianca Bustamante, some Lia Block and Abbi Pulling thrown in, and that's about it. Some drivers were completely ignored. As a big Ferrari fan and supporter of their academy, it sucked not seeing Aurelia and Maya as much especially because I know Netflix went to the Maranello museum to film with them and to their homes and none of that made it to the show.

I stopped watching Drive to Survive years ago for the same reason, I don't care for reality series, the behind the scenes during the race weekend, the technical stuff is what I liked of DTS before it turned into the WWE for new viewers. I did like seeing that the parents show support to all of them, mostly dads being supportive of their daughters in this kind of sport, which you can also see in person when you go to their paddock and some of the parents tend to be there and they're also super friendly to talk to about racing in general.

I do hope it gets new girls to get into racing. I've been following karting this year and there's already some pretty promising names in the FIA Karting Championship and the Champions of the Future series. Chiara Battig from France got pole in the OK Senior category which was pretty crazy to see a couple months ago. And of course there are some pretty $loaded$ ones that shouldn't have trouble getting good seats in the future like Luna Fluxa.

I think we probably have the same issue with watching DTS. I have yet to watch a single episode. When you are close enough to sport, you can kind of easily tell what's BS and what isn't (just from the moments that create controversy enough for the news).

I've finished 4 episode so far and I feel pretty much the same. I like the stuff away from the track about the drivers families the best. The focus on the Al Qubaisi sisters was interesting.

Feels like it's past time for Red Bull to look at themselves in the mirror and build a better car that more than one person in the world can drive rather than continue to blame and cycle through 2nd drivers.

I wonder if they will give Hadjar a go at that seat first. He's made it to Q2 every race this year and Q3 in about half of those. With the exception of Australia he's finished in the points in every race and currently sits 10th in the standings

He's still pretty green, but that dude can drive. He's getting pretty damn good performance out of that RB car

I was watching the onboards for Hamilton in practice yesterday and he was really struggling with one corner in sector 3 but he seems to have figured it out. I think he really needs a new race engineer. He's defended Adami publicly which is good, but it just doesn't seem like they are clicking. It's feel like a very professional arms length relationship which is not what he is used to. I suppose that could change with time though.

He's gradually getting used to the car which is good to see.

Hadjar seems like the most likely next man up. Not sure if it will happen this season though.

I do agree that Red Bull needs to establish a better 2-car situation going forward. Max has lost major ground to Oscar and Lando and can't carry the team by himself anymore.

I think it's too early for him to move up. Give him a full season in the Racing Bulls car before forcing him into the second seat. I think it would be too difficult for him to handle this early on and it might just destroy his development.

Too late for this generation of cars. Next year will be a reset with new aero regulations and the engine/hybrid systems.

I agree if you want to give Hadjar a run wait until next year. Let him get used to f1 with a drivable car.

I don't think they have a reserve driver for this race because he dropped out after qualifying.

The real issue will be in two weeks if he still can't compete for the Canadian GP. Both of the Aston Martin reserve drivers are scheduled to compete in the 24Hr of Le Mans

What's the fastest car you think you could drive?

I've been catching up on this season's F1 Academy races and I think I would honestly struggle with it and they use an F4 car. When I am sim racing I stick to the Ferrari F2004 but I know there is no way I could handle it in real life.
