Not to dissuade anyone from voting for their favorites, but right now Jurassic Park is the T-Rex and Total Recall is Mr. Gennaro.

Comedy is difficult. I have never seen Big Lebowski, Office Space, or Dazed!

I have seen Dumb and Dumber, a couple thousand times!

If anything Tombstone doesn't get enough love.
Interesting. Non-scientific polling on my own here on TexAgs leads me to believe that Tombstone is one of TexAgs' favorites. That movie is referred to frequently, especially with the "Well .... bye" meme. And it is a damn good movie.

But personally, I found Wyatt Earp to be a far better made, better written, and better scored movie. Loved Costner's portrayal of Wyatt Earp, and especially Dennis Quaid's Doc Holliday. Yet I rarely see any references to this movie. Perhaps it was not quite so much an action movie as was Tombstone, it was more a biopic covering Wyatt's entire life.

It 's a shame we never have any huge global pandemics where you're encouraged to stay inside fr months on in and could try out some new movies.

Tombstone: 2h14m
Wyatt Earp: 3h32m

That's probably got something to do with it.

That's probably got something to do with it.

That and Tombstone has like 50 quotable lines. My poker group quotes it constantly.

51 votes in 1 hour, 50 minutes is pretty strong. Considering most other days we get 100-115 in 24 hours.

4 of the 8 matchups are fluctuating between differences of 1-4 votes.

Jurassic Park has already put in the reserves: Nedry, the Tim & Lex, the sick Triceratops and the fat kid from the dig site in order to rest its starters tomorrow.

I agree with Brain and that Tombstone is overrated. There's some good individual scenes, some great one liners and Val Kilmer had an all time great performance, but I feel that Tombstone is a movie where the sum isn't as good as its parts.

I have three kids...my movie selection has been more like; Onward, Scoob, all five Pirates of Caribbean, all 3 Back to the Futures, Trolls, etc.

Check out The Willoughbys on Netflix if you haven't already, you might find it even funnier than they do.

That is just the start! Ha! Comedies have never really been an attraction to me.

There is another movie on the list I have not seen but am too scared to admit it on here for I might get permabanned from the site!

Wyatt Earp > Tombstone
Dennis Quaid Doc > Kilmer's Doc

Trolling?
Nope. Not trolling. My opinions often fly in the face of TexAgs group think, as in, I like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull more than Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, or the Star Wars prequels are not the worst abominations ever put to film (which is what I would come away with if I had just come here from Planet X and stumbled across this site).

I like Tombstone, with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer's interpretations of their characters. I just happen to like Wyatt Earp, the film by Lawrence Kasdan, more. And it has some damn good lines of its own, but I suppose that because they don't lend themselves to clever memes, that means I'm trolling.

Open Range is the better Costner Western vs Wyatt Earp

Tombstone is the most enjoyable of all 3.

Temple of Doom and Crystal Skull suck in equally large proportions.

Dumb & Dumber vs Office Space is such a tough one for me.

D&D was classic during HS, but Office Space I didn't fully appreciate until 2003 when I started working for UCS. Then it became an all time fave and all the memories of the HS humor from D&D faded (although still highly quotable and funny still).

You forgot one... I count 15 movies there.

Silence of the Lambs was 1991 - released on Valentines Day btw in a stroke of genius counter programming.

so we all know JP is winning in a run away.

One drama matchup is still separated by 1 vote.
The other is separated by 6.

So the first person to tell me correctly which Action movie has the highest % right now and the highest comedy % gets to pick today's gif girl.

One entry per person.

I'll guess Office Space for comedy any movie that can take down Groundhog Day decisively is gonna mow down quirky cult movies.

And for action movies I'll take the Fugitive as a cinderella pick. Never met anyone that doesn't like it and it has been up against good competition while True Lies (a weaker Arnie movie that is really just a box office champ) has been against mostly fodder and won easily.

Just wild ass guesses that are not the "favorites".

Well, I've seen several posts at times on this site ranking TOD well ahead of CS, stuff like Raiders > Last Crusade >>>>>> tu winning anything >>>>>> TOD >>>>>> your dead grandma showing up to chastise your choice of shirt for the day >>> a toilet that won't flush full of a turd >>>>> CS ... that kind of thing

I don't use the word "suck" to describe those movies. For what they were, I found them entertaining. But when compared against the original and The Last Crusade, they pale like a faded black&white photo from 1922.
