Saw Julio Iglesias at the HLS&R.

Dude was great.

Female backup singer that did a duet with him had the Mariah Carey flute voice range long before we heard of Mariah Carey.

Average White Band at a bar in Denver. Awesome

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Fremont Street in Vegas. I was so drunk I don't remember it so that may not count.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters played the Letterman Show I attended. They were great!

Bowling for Soup

The Guess Who at a bar in Little Rock. So good.

Spinal Tap played a great concert

St. Vincent rocks out

Bobbie Gentry and Jim Stafford playing guitar and singing around a campfire at our family reunion. Very cool experience.

Saw the original Paul Revere and the Raiders sometime in the late 60s at GRW. I think every teen girl in BCS was there. Very entertaining.

I saw SPM perform at sound waves on the East side, and again at a car show in the early 2000's. He is locked up in Jail, so he's definitely not performing anymore lol.

That's cool. Underrated band with a ton of great hits.

Paul was still rockin' in his '70s. The average tenure of his band was something like 30 years.

  • Andrew Dice Clay - Palmer Auditorium in Austin, 1990
  • Texas Tornados @ Farm Aid V in Dallas - Spring Break 1992
  • Fear Factory opened for the Blaze Bayley version of Iron Maiden (which I'm sure nobody saw either)
  • Flametrick Subs with Satan's Cheerleaders opening for Reverend Horton Heat at Austin Music Hall
  • La Tropa F @ my National Guard Armory in Brownwood, TX
  • A band called Nickelback opened for 3 Doors Down at Trees in Deep Ellum in early 2000
  • Joey DIaz and on a different night, Ralphie May @ Pacific Beach Bar and Grill Comedy Night, San Diego, late 2000
  • Paul Oakenfold at a warehouse in Miami circa 2001
  • *****cat Dolls @ Udo Fes in Osaka, Japan 2006
  • Michael Schenker @ Whisky a Go Go in 2015
  • No Doubt @ 2015 Rock in Rio USA in Las Vegas (had waited 20 years to see them)
  • Wes Scantlin meltdown about lip syncing with Puddle of Mudd at the Hard Rock Hotel Pool in Las Vegas
  • Saw The Mezcaltones several times at my local - The Collaroy Beach Club in New South Wales, Australia - https://the-mezcaltones.com/
  • Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five at the Singapore Formula 1 in 2018
  • Bad Bunny on the 4th of July in Madrid, Spain in 2019. I paid about 50 Euro for the full festival show. In 2022, I paid about $200 to see him at Minute Maid and I just paid $300 to see him in 2024 at the Toyota Center.
  • Fatboy Slim at the Singapore Formula 1 in 2019
  • Starcrawler at Mona Vale Pub in New South Wales, January 2020 (my last concert before the war)
  • Morrissey at Caesars in Las Vegas (during the war, you could only remove your mask while drinking $25 cans of Stella)
  • Berlin in San Bernardino (first concert after the war, LA was still closed)
  • ABC in Agoura Hills (unfortunately, I had a work call right in the middle of my favorite song - How to be a Millionaire)
And of course my claim to fame is that I was on the floor about 25 rows deep for the final RUSH show at the LA Forum in August 2015.

Here's Wes Scantlin having a NSFW meltdown although I heard his one at Trees and in College Station was even more epic. I was about 10 rows deep for this one.

Wouldn't have ever thought inwoukd see flametrick subs mentioned on texags.

I guarantee I was at a show no one else was at. Vice Squad and some other punk bands at fitz one of the mid ought houston flood nights. Couldn't leave Fitz and they didn't close the bar. 1-200 punks, skins and some assorted others drinking until like 5 am with nowhere to go. That was such a freaking wild night. I've got so many great memories at Fitz

Love threads like this! I'll add my two cents:

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians/Don Henley at Hofheinz
Red Hot Chili Peppers OPENING for the Fabulous Thunderbirds - this was a FUN time. David Garza opened for both, buddy's GF stole a VIP pass and we met Jimmy Vaughan, and later, Flea.
The Bangles
The Ramones
Rage Against the Machine
Suicidal Tendencies (opened for Metallica that tour)
Don Walser
Ian Moore - while he was dating a neighbor of mine
Buddy Guy
Soulhat
Sunflower
Steamroller
Book of Love

Had to include Flametrick Subs to bring in the Satan's Cheerleaders reference.

In October 2020, we drove out to Riverside and saw RHH at a Drive In Theater where the band was 300 yards away from where we were parked and you had to tune your radio to the low wattage FM station to hear the concert.

They alternated parking spaces to socially distance the cars and you were only allowed to leave your parking space to go to the bathroom or buy concessions. And we were thankful for that at the time. That was definitely one of the craziest situations I never could have imagined.

Disney world turns the park over to high school seniors from all over the state for a night every year, and they have musical acts.

I think my year was LL Cool j, lis Lisa and Cult Jam, Michael Bolton, Expose and Force MDs.

I also saw that Metallica tour, I think it was 1997?

I saw Ian Moore in Downtown Houston in December 1999 not too long after Bonfire as I recall, it was a very surreal time period.
Ian Moore is doing an acoustic set Sunday night in Galveston but I fooled around and didn't get tickets in time.

Must have been about 2015 or so, right after they opened Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, there was a Beyonce concert and on a different weekend, a Taylor Swift concert. For work, I used to spend 60+ nights/year at the Santa Clara Marriott and those weekends definitely stand out.

I thought the Swifties and their moms were out of control then. It would be even crazier now.
