Saw Joe King Carrasco once.

He played at DeWare Fieldhouse. Booked by MSC Town Hall.

Tons of Aggies saw him multiple times.
Those were fun shows at Sneakers? (the sports bar / sand volleyball place on Harvey in late 80's / early '90's).

Not a music act, and I know I'm not the only one who's seen him but maybe the most random circumstance.

I saw Jeff Dunham (the ventriloquist comedian) when I was probably in 4th or 5th grade. He was booked as entertainment for some one-day math camp somewhere in the DFW area. 10-year-old bagger05 thought that his jalapeno on a stick bit was the funniest thing I'd ever seen.

I randomly saw his act on a Disney cruise

His act is probably a good fit for a Disney cruise. I didn't know he was from Dallas until I doubted that he was the guy I saw all those years ago and looked him up.

I immediately remembered him when his act started, he was on tv a bunch back when MTV/VH1 had standup shows.

Eric Johnson at Eastgate Live was incredible. We were at the bar after the show, and sat with us and we chatted with him…the nicest guy you'll ever meet. The least attended show was Better Than Ezra at Third Floor Cantina with maybe 20 people in total. Most in the crowd were LSU grad students who had been following them for years.

I saw Dan Fogelberg in a restaurant before he was famous.

Met Eric after one Eastgate Live show in May of '88. We chatted behind the club by his little RV for 30 minutes or so, and I visited with his girlfriend while he talked to someone else. She was a junior or senior at t.u. He was probably 10-12 years older than her.

Rock stars, man. They have it going on.

When i saw him there in '87 I had my Tones LP with me and asked him to sign it when he was heading into his RV with his manager. His manager brought it out later. He did a nice job and had a nice message.

I saw Les Paul twice, both at the Iridium Jazz Club in NYC in different years. That might be the only act I've seen that fits the original description

It was such a big deal that you could win tickets on scratch offs at local gas stations.

Vanilla Ice played: Ice Ice Baby, Play That Funky Music White Boy, I Love You, and then Ice Ice Baby again. Hammer appeared to sweat off 400000 calories.doing his dancing.

Not that I'd call myself a fan or anything, but I saw Drowning Pool with the original lead singer at a Buzzfest when I was in high school. Given how soon he died after Bodies became a hit, I imagine that's a low number. A few of the ones I went to had bands that had 1-2 songs get regular airplay that might be somewhat well known or at least have a vague recollection of: Trik Turner, Unwritten Law, The Exies, Taproot, a few others. Those shows were always interesting.

Also seen both Boxcar Racer and Angels & Airwaves at different points, don't think either toured for all that long.

Trying to think if anyone else I've seen would fall under well known and not a lot of folks here would have seen. I guess probably some of the Warped Tours (went to several of those)

So basically them and Winger are the only bands from Colorado.

When I first moved to Denver, I didn't know this and I heard them paging over the PA system "Winger, Mr. Kip Winger please report to ..." I thought somebody was playing a joke over the PA. I had no idea Kip Winger was a local.

Man I love their song 'calling'.

So much better than that radio hit poem.

'How to save a life'
So that makes 3 bands from Colorado.

Looks like that song didn't come out until March 2006. I left Denver in January 2004 so by the time The Fray hit, I was way too far gone into the Hair Metal scene of Hollywood to even know about them.

One nice thing about Denver radio is you could always count on REO Speedwagon "Ridin' The Storm Out" and Joe Walsh "Rocky Mountain Way". Both of those songs are now 50 years old if you can believe that.

I have a pic with them from an Edgefest way back when in the 90's. I don't remember them being great live but I definitely remember them being really ****ing loud.
