Love Dan Fogelberg. Taken from us too soon.

In 1986 or so, I saw Toni Tennille (by herself) with a pops orchestra singing big band/crooner classics. It was an event I was invited to, not one I chose, but she was awesome, and it was one of the reasons I became interested in singers like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Doesn't totally count, but I watched the live broadcast on a big screen outside of the Seattle Symphony from a bar (and could hear it) when Sir-Mix-A-Lot joined them for a special Seattle legends performance.

Tyler the Creator
Took my High School age daughter to a bunch of shows at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown, Sydney between 2012-2014.

Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown (headliner) and Run the Jewels one night and Kendrick Lamar at a different show.

We saw Odd Future but Tyler the Creator was banned from Australia.
Apparently a women's group didn't like his lyrics.

I'm sure others have seen them, but I just thought of a show that I'll be no one else saw:

Killer Bees at a Halloween night party in Westlake 1987. We walked 6th Street and went to a private party over one of the bars, then somehow found the Westlake party based on some vague oral directions.

The Bees played near the kitchen, which was trashed.

Dan Fogelberg concert was an acoustic tour in 1983 in Knoxville TN. It was awesome. At some point, he took a sip of a beverage in a cup on stage near him and whispered into his microphone "somebody f**cked up" because it didn't have his alcoholic beverage of choice in it.
Captain and Tennille was in Hawaii when I lived there in 1978. I remember she had some sort of wardrobe malfunction and asked for someone to give her a safety pin.

I won a couple of tickets to First Yell in 2004, when Bill Cosby was the headline guest. My husband and I went, but left before he took the stage (I was pregnant and he was on crutches with a fractured patella).

A few that I haven't seen in the thread yet:
Yngwei Malmsteen
Great White
Krokus
UFO
Bullet Boys
WASP
Saxon
Armored Saint

I've seen so many others in concert (Maiden, Priest, Rush, Stevie Ray, etc.) but a bunch of others have also.

I haven't seen WASP but, earlier this year one of my friends was playing at Whisky a Go Go and Blackie Lawless was in attendance.

Afterwards, a couple of my friends wanted to go over to The Rainbow and have pizza which is really good BTW.
We wind up sitting in the booth next to Blackie Lawless.

I overhear Blackie and a promoter I know talking about the guy who was the promoter for Great White when The Station fire happened. They got deep in to who was to blame and why. I was having a good time with my friends so I only heard part of it. I have no idea why they were talking about that topic that night. But, my takeaway from listening to Blackie Lawless speak is that he's a pretty smart dude who knows what's up.

That's pretty cool. Blackie is a very intelligent and interesting guy. I remember when that fire happened and have heard a lot of interviews and have seen a few documentaries on it. It was a terrible tragedy all around.

My friends and I talked a lot about that fire and how we had seen many shows in similar clubs with similar bands back in the day. It could have happened in any of them the way they kept exits locked.

Saw Great White open for Priest on their Defenders of the Faith tour. GW's big single was "Stick It"

Saw WASP open for Maiden on the Powerslave tour. Was not a fan. Good theatrics for a metal crowd though

Saw Armored Saint open for Metallica. Only caught the last part of their set. Didn't ever form an opinion one way or the other.

WASP got a lot better through the years and ditched the theatrics.
I saw the Powerslave show in San Antonio at the old Convention Center Arena. Where did you see it?

His story about how he and the band helped "hide" Michael Schencker when he deserted UFO back in the day was hilarious. They were the only ones who knew where he was.

I saw Armored Saint open for Saxon about 8 years ago at Gas Monkey in Dallas.

The Saint kicked ass that show.

So good.

In the last year I have seen Jack Russel's Great White and Bullet Boys, twice.

Saw LA Guns and Faster *****cat in the last 4 months.

Armored Saint was going to open.

I saw Weezer right after Rivers got out of Harvard.

They played like 3 songs from the Green album, almost the entire Pinkerton album, and half the Blue album, at what was then Verizon.

The encore was Buddy Holly, and they dropped confetti on us right at the very short guitar solo in the middle. Was my favorite concert. They pretty much suck now.

Downtown Houston? It wasn't still called Aerial Theater then? Pretty certain I went to the same show and drove down from Tyler for it. Loved The Get Up Kids opening as well. I regretted skipping on driving to Dallas and Houston for Pearl Jam the previous Fall and wasn't gonna let it happen again. Pretty sure Weezer played Numbers the year before in 2000. That would've been something else to attend.

Television at Fun Fun Fest a decade ago is my entry for this topic.

I don't think I saw Machine Head play but, I hung out with them in the dressing rooms backstage after Heaven and Hell at Chula Vista, CA in April 2007. Nice guys. Way too many tattoos but these days probably nobody would even notice.

The trippy part about that venue is that it's right on the Mexican border. Here we are having a great time but on the other side of the fence, life sucks.

I totally regret not seeing Machine head on the 25 anny tour of burn my eyes. It's a favorite album of mine, yet I can't hardly stand any thing else by them. Not sure why... but without those songs I have no desire to see them.

They usually play 2-3 from burn my eyes.
Block, old, none but my own and Dravidian are staples at every show I've been too.

Their catalogue is deep, and some of their later albums have been meh. Newest -of kingdom and crowns has 3-4 really good songs. (Unhallowed, slaughter, No gods) others are ok.

Catharsis was crap. But the blackening and through the ashes are some metal masterpieces.

The Saint/Saxon lineup is the same one that I saw but it was in the mid 80s at The Majestic Theater in San Antonio. That was a damn cool venue for a metal concert.

ETA: If anyone is interested in a trip down memory lane.

That's awesome. I've hung out with them briefly in 2001 in San Antonio after they played with ill nino and fear factory. They were all pretty cool dudes. Robb apparently went on a power trip and ran off Adam, then Dave and Phil but seems to have recreated some magic with their last album. Hopefully he isn't as controlling, but then again MH is his baby.
