Wouldn't have ever thought inwoukd see flametrick subs mentioned on texags.

I guarantee I was at a show no one else was at. Vice Squad and some other punk bands at fitz one of the mid ought houston flood nights. Couldn't leave Fitz and they didn't close the bar. 1-200 punks, skins and some assorted others drinking until like 5 am with nowhere to go. That was such a freaking wild night. I've got so many great memories at Fitz
Had to include Flametrick Subs to bring in the Satan's Cheerleaders reference.

In October 2020, we drove out to Riverside and saw RHH at a Drive In Theater where the band was 300 yards away from where we were parked and you had to tune your radio to the low wattage FM station to hear the concert.

They alternated parking spaces to socially distance the cars and you were only allowed to leave your parking space to go to the bathroom or buy concessions. And we were thankful for that at the time. That was definitely one of the craziest situations I never could have imagined.

That's funny. I just checked out Flametrick Subs based on this thread (you've gained my trust SeaSpeed after Acid Bath) and first thought was 'reminds me of Reverend Horton Heat'.

I saw them just 4-5 years ago and they were awesome.

Also saw Lou Graham at Lava Cantina. He was absolutely horrible.

On the flip side saw Bret Michaels at Lava a few years ago and he was great!

In their prime :
War
Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen (but they never had a prime)
Charlie Pride
Lynn Anderson
The Isley Brothers

Earl Scruggs
Paul Simon
Ray Charles
Steve Winwood

(Taking a shot at this one - Chris Isaak)

I did see Cat Stevens warming up at The Mid South Coliseum (Memphis) and I was the only person in the seats. He almost hit me with a wad of chewing gum, and apologized

I got hooked on Wolf Alice after seeing them on the "Later with Joules Holland" show.

I have seen them twice ... opened for Queens of the Stone Age and then their headline show at Echo Lounge.

After seeing some videos / social media of their gigs at venues and festivals they've played in Europe... we in attendance at the Echo Lounge got a treat to see them in a relatively "small" venue.

I think I saw the Monkees do a show after a TX Rangers' game at old Arlington Stadium.

Also, I am sure I saw the Beach Boys do a post-game show at Arlington Stadium.

Remembered another obscure one. I saw Henry Rollins spoken word performance at the Sydney Opera House a few years ago.

It was very interesting. My Aussie mate I went with wanted to know my thoughts about Rollins comments on Trump. Rollins didn't have full blown TDS but had a good bit of it.

I've been to the 30 foot fall Christmas show on several occasions. Surely there are one or two folks that did that in their younger days.

Another funny thing I remember from working a show, it was judas priest and slayer and I cant recall who else, but dimebag Darrell showed up in an old beat up limo and it was the funniest thing ever to me at the time. He was killed a few months later which was actually 19 years ago yesterday.

I hadn't listened to them in YEARS (Erasure) but came across a live youtube video recently by accident and shocked by how good Andy Bell still sounded. Dude still has it.

I saw Weezer right after Rivers got out of Harvard.

They played like 3 songs from the Green album, almost the entire Pinkerton album, and half the Blue album, at what was then Verizon.

The encore was Buddy Holly, and they dropped confetti on us right at the very short guitar solo in the middle. Was my favorite concert. They pretty much suck now.

I went to that little restaurant in College Station on Texas Avenue in the same parking lot as the old Ace's Hardware around 2004. Not sure what is there now, but nothing lasts long. Anyways, we went to see Corey Morrow, and he brought a guy name Gary Allen who was not a huge name at the time. Venue was like 80 people max. Was a fun concert. I remember thinking that Allen was better than Morrow.

Weirdest concert was Moby Play. Was at Verizon theatre. I think 1998? All seats were at round white linen tables facing the stage, and wine was recommended, and, if I recall, a cheese plate. Was an interesting concert to say the least.

In 1992, I saw The Dixie Chicks with a brunette singer and guitarist Robin Lynn Macy before they brought in Natalie Maines. ("Am I on AM radio? Love you!")
They opened up with Dionne Warwick in Plano, I believe?

Gary Allen had multiple hits and was all over the radio in 2004, maybe he just made an appearance at a small venue, but he was established.
