I've still yet to see any confirmation or even credible rumors/sourcing. What makes you say that?
Troy, but instead of Brad Pitt, it’s Elliot Page. pic.twitter.com/vK4hpmHuq7

Absolutely nobody has come out and denied it. Maybe they're all under NDAs and afraid of being sued, but if it Page wasn't Achilles, I think somebody (production team, actor, extra, anybody) would have leaked a denial by now. So while it's not a certainty, I'd be moderately surprised if achilles wasn't page at this point.
If true, it's the worst casting choice ever. A 5'1, 100 pound trans dude - literally somebody that 98% of random men on the street could whale (I'm assuming the remaining 2% are in wheelchairs or have flipper arms or something) - is playing a legendary warrior that mowed through opposing soldiers like grass.

I'm going with Claude!s take that she's playing a diminished Achilles in Hell. There is no other way to justify this.
But, then as someone else pointed out, its then a backhanded insult to the trans community if that's the direction he took because he's saying that Page can't represent Achilles as originally depicted because to do so would betray common sense and logic.
If somehow Page ends being Achilles while mortal, then this will be the worst casting decision of all time. I just can't believe he did that.

There are MULTIPLE other ways to justify this.
Good Lord.
Simply by Page playing another (zombie) character, which is the most likely explanation.
In fact, here's a pretty convincing report, with photographic evidence, of who Page may very well be playing, and it ain't Achilles (slight potential spoiler warning for those wanting to remain completely spoiler free)...

The ones *****ing the most about the possibility of Page playing Achilles will also be the ones that will be the most disappointed if it turns out to not be true.

Well this is concerning.
If Page isn't Achilles, I'm not sure that the 3 people repeatedly posting unflattering pictures of Lupita N'yongo to prove she's too ugly to play Helen of Troy can carry the hate of this thread all the way to the movie's release date.

Nolan and his team never comment on this kind of stuff. Like, ever. He simply doesn't give a **** / doesn't dip his toe in culture war issues. Further, this kind of outrage is limited to Twitter crazies/Elon Musk and won't affect the box office in the least. Not for a Christopher Nolan summer blockbuster starring everyone and their dog. Not unless Fox News or whoever starts hemming and hawing, but considering there's no valid sourcing on the rumor, I would be surprised if even they did.
Secondly, literally the exact same thing can be said in the opposite direction. If this rumor were TRUE, someone - some source, insider, reporter, journalist, podcaster, etc - almost assuredly would have confirmed as much by now. Instead? There's been absolutely nothing. No hint or followup of any kind. Again, this is a rumor that started on a random Twitter account, that was then fanned to the extreme by anti-woke outrage, and nothing more (so far).
Could it end up being true?
Sure, it's possible.
But as of now there is ZERO tangible evidence to suggest as much.
