BTW, if they ever tried to remake Lost, that is when I meltdown. I really do not have much attachment to The Odyssey so this casting thing has been entertaining

This movie is cooked

The Colonial invaders - I saw that. Polyphemus the Cyclops, who likes to eat people, is misunderstood. It is Odysseus, the good guy, who is the invader and not the native inhabitant. Eat the invaders.

However, Nolan is not going to cook a movie. He is too good. It will do well, making everyone complaining about the film look like weirdos and nullify their criticism.

He should've just remade one of the classic and great stories from the continent of Africa or one of the beloved Latin American stories. Then the casting wouldn't be so upsetting.

Thus people desiring authenticity and immersion would get what they want and everyone wanting less of whitey would have their needs met and everyone would be happy.

If so... A) how ****ing dare he, and B) you won't catch me anywhere near a theater for this.

Torches should be played by TORCHES, not some woke-ass, easily-turned-on light bulbs.

Nolan claims his version aims for authenticity, but its exactly this kind of divisive/modern casting, and adaptation of a bulb-ist revision, that threatens to turn Homer's myth into a politically divisive Hollywood product.

Is that the point? Really?!

Instead of respecting the classic, established, pure-started fire, and the heat behind it, Nolan is exploiting it for the lowest motivations: awards-season signaling, critic approval, and politics.

What about the kids and the dumbest adults on the planet who are being introduced to this story for the first time, thinking that ****ing LIGHT BULBS existed back then?! I'm of course fine with them thinking literal gods and monsters existed back then, but LIGHT BULBS?!

Light bulbs didn't even exist until 1879!!!

I swear, Hollywood and their DEI bull**** will be the end of us.
