This is so true. Even in Texas and my being a lawyer, I have to read and parse those referendums to understand the practical effect of what is being postulated.

And probably plenty of front row Methodists and Baptists and PTA moms would be in favor of this because of their hatred for Trump. Plus they live in gated communities and wont experieince the downfall until the complete takeover by socialists.

It won't ruin us, but 'yes' on redistricting got more than triple the funding vs. no, so it will be a heavy lift. We'll have options on 'the day after' if it does pass (to eliminate 4 GOP US House seats).

Most informed observers I've followed expect it to pass by 2 to 5 points. We'll see.

It's a democratic state - I expect it to pass. It's being marketed as "fair". That's a joke.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the bipartisan commission failed to pass a map so the VA Supreme Court drew them IIRC.

Trump effectively had a mandate from the people to cleanup DC, expose and prosecute corruption, fix immigration and place our nation first and foremost. For one reason or another, he decided to abandon his constituents and embroil us in another war. This absolutely bizarre turn will have devastating consequences on the conservative movement and our nation.

Weird that you find it funny. But of course, that's the MO of some posters here. They have nothing of substance to offer other than a quip.

Disgusting the Democrats-Soros were allowed to run this money machine unchallenged.

Says the person who got triggered by Annie88 and had posts removed as a result. When you offer something of substance, you'll get substantive responses. Still waiting on that though.

BALLOT QUESTION
Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?

So should the average Virginia voter understand this?
Is this even Constitutional. A temporary redistricting for one election?

For anyone in Virginia you should vote NO.

lol. 'Restore fairness" by disenfranchising voters.

They are doing it with their EC votes as well

Did you expect Trump to roll into the Virginia state capitol with tanks and force them not to redistrict?

I guess you are also pissed off at Trump for not curing cancer?

What is it that Trump should have done to stop this that he didn't do?

That goalpost will always be moving with them. They want to echo the 'War bad!' for everything, but yet had that not happened they'd be using some other weak excuse and pretend like Trump has done absolutely nothing. It's all they have.

Page County Democratic Committee had put up a billboard saying "Trump says vote 'Yes"" on the gerrymandering vote. The move is only the latest example of why the Washington Post denounced the Democrats as pushing gerrymandering in "the most brazenly dishonest way imaginable"...

Maybe they can be sued for this question. Fair and one sided for D's
Unfair for R's
Everybody SHOULD want fair elections....The Dems cheat every chance they get

When are we as a nation gonna stop putting up with this?

Leading and compound question. Both subject to objection. Also a bit of a hypothetical thrown in, as such suitable only for a duly approved expert witness.

I get that, my county Dallas county as well, but was really just making a generic point. OK fine, slice a large county into 4 squares or whatever. But the district should not look like a Jackson Pollock painting. Only in rare instances should you have neighbors 200 yards west and 200 yards South all of you have 3 different reps.

The maps are ridiculous currently in BCS my district goes from lake Livingston to Lake Travis

I am old enough to remember the first mid decade redistricting drawn to unseat Chet Edward's

Because having BCS , Waco and Temple/Killeen in the same district was too competitive and kept electing a D

I'm referring to Republican motivation. Many of us that voted for Trump voted for things promised and they weren't done. Therefore, we have little faith that our vote actually matters. This affects Republican turnout. It's evident in Virginia and will be evident in the midterms.

The only way to make Virginia fair is to eliminate half or more of the unconstitutional federal jobs in Washington D.C. The Democrat voting carpetbaggers would have to move away and native Virginians would be in the majority again.

Maybe federal employees that live there and other states shouldn't be allowed to vote in federal elections. Like voting yourself a raise every year in the private sector.

Dem gerrymandering voted on today.

It's only gerrymandering when Republicans do it. When dems do it it's redistricting.
