The maps are ridiculous currently in BCS my district goes from lake Livingston to Lake Travis
I am old enough to remember the first mid decade redistricting drawn to unseat Chet Edward's
Because having BCS , Waco and Temple/Killeen in the same district was too competitive and kept electing a D
I'm glad I worked the phone bank for Flores - the only time I did something like that.
However, what's happening in Virginia is shameful. They are using NOVA to stretch into every Republican district to switch them blue. NOVA has 4 of the top 10 counties in income in AMERCIA. Not Virginia - America. They are taking seats from rural, working class, military, and the poor who will not be represented. Virginia will have multiple representatives within a 20 miles radius who will never have to leave NOVA. I thought Democrats were all for representing working class and the poor. We know they don't give a crap about rural and military citizens.
Thank goodness it looks like VRA is going to be overturned. That will be 20+ seats added from the south (red states).
This is all about the Dems freaking out about the cliff that they are facing in 2028 and 2030. 2028 is the election, 2030 is the census. Throw in 4+ years of deportations and a shut down border.
They are going to throw everything they have at cheating in 2028 because they want to control the 2030 census to mitigate the damage. It is expected to add a minimum of 11-12 seats to red states from the flight out of mismanaged blue states. They already short changed red states 4 seats from the 2020 census - that will be corrected too.
This is the train coming down the track ready to smack the Dems. 20+11+4 is a freaking lot of seats.
