McShay said there was no way Downs got past the Bengals at 10. I don't think that's changed. The giants love both Styles and Downs and they may end up with both

If the Cowboys plan is to sit at 12 and wait, I don't think this trade changes anything.

If they are seriously considering trading up to #6 this might help them. Giants might feel empowered to go Offense at #5 now. There is a lot of talk that, if his workout goes well, Tyson won't last past NO or KC. Giants could now go RB, WR, OT at #5. Cowboys targets still there at 6.

This trade is strange, Why would Cincy trade #10 for a DT... A DT that they will now have to pay? Probably says a lot about what teams think about the 1st round talent this year.

The Giants would be as dumb as possible if they used both firsts on defense. They have a young QB who looks promising and aren't going to surround him with more talent? No way. Heck id use both picks on offense. Grab a lineman and WR/Love. Support your QB.

Btw, what an overpay by the Bengals.

The have skattebo and arguably one of the top 5 most talented WRs in the NFL. Just so happens he got injured bad last year.

Harbaugh wants to play defense and absolutely maul people.

Love won't be there anyway. Maybe Tate at 6.

One guy is coming off an ACL and the other cannot hold Jeremiah Love's jock and is a weird guy who seems bound to be injury prone. My point is I wouldn't sit on my hands and be afraid of drafting more help for my QB because of what I have (and I think Nabers is top five).

I think their 10th pick makes way too much sense for a lineman.

Hard nose run game, stiff defense. Led by an elite MLB and dynamic do it all safety…

Thin draft at the top. Why those few defenders are at a premium. Moving to 6/39 would be perfect. Doubt they do…jerruh is all hat and no cattle

Oh I don't disagree I just think the cowboys are going to get screwed here and NY would be one to do it.

We're gonna draft Jacob Rodriguez and he be our next, oft-injured great white linebacker that had potential but could never stay healthy.

We haven't had one of those in a couple years so it's about time.

Edit: unless we consider Logan Wilson, who we traded a draft pick for, came over, got injured, and is now retired. lol.

I'm not bashing on anybody, but it's funny how anytime our division rivals make a move we immediately go into "Jerry Sucks" mode.

Giants got a #1 for their guy they weren't going to pay. We just got Two #1 for our guy that we turned into Q Will, Kenny Clark, and pick 20.

Let's see what NY & Dallas do on Thursday before we jump to conclusions.

Division rivals have absolutely nothing to do with Jerry Jones sucking.

We've been in the "Jerry Sucks" mode for a very long time….and you need to look no further back than this off season where he hinted he was going to be aggressive with his cap space yet pretty much sucked again.

Interesting to see the Bengals also using the philosophy (like us) of not paying crazy money to their edger rusher, but instead investing on the interior.

And before y'all say it's not a complement to compare yourself to the Bengals... without digging into the research, pretty sure most of the recent SB Champions won without having a premier pass rusher, but they did have really good / elite interior guys.

I guess it depends when you think you can win. If you are aiming a couple years later it makes great sense to build up young.

found this online...They have not been good as of late...roster really reflected it. They had a great streak early in his tenure. I'd highlight DMO green but he can't stay healthy. Also, the amount of green 'every day' starters that are no longer with the cowboys is massive. Theres a few I'd unhighlight as well...

'23 was the kind of draft that has you scrambling 2-3 years later... which is exactly what is happening right now.

This is why I am so big on Dallas moving up from 12 and getting one of their top targets. If we just sit there it's very likely we are selecting from the pool of 2nd round graded players.

Not much impact remaining from 2020 through current. Just no margin for error. I think they've built a dangerous offense. I like where defense is headed but they need a lot of walk in help.

Kansas City is going Tackle. I believe that stronger than anything.
Giants need tackle/guard, WR, DT (there isn't any), Safety, Corner... but they also really like Styles.
Cardinals want to draft a tackle but they dont want to use 3...
Browns are going with a tackle - Ideally they'd liek to move back to get Proctor, but they may just draft him at 6.

It's flashy to want all these nice shiny toys, but the Browns are a toughnosed football team. It's their DNA and they are trying to rebuild that OLine. The chiefs can't afford to not protect Mahomes coming off of an ACL. I guarantee they're looking tackle to complete that Oline. The Cardinals are almost done with their OLine if they grab a tackle and then they have a nice safe vehicle to insert a Ty Simpson or a 2027 QB.

There's going to be a hard run on tackles early.

The fun of the draft (for me) is the unknowns and possibilities. I feel strongly that sitting still is a terrible idea... but there was also no way in hell CD Lamb falls to 17 until it happened. We're gonna find out in 4 days.


In the meantime, I'll dissect your list for fun using your assumptions + Bailey and Reese are gone too.

That's 4 picks ahead of us with these prospects available:

Lot's of chatter that none of the teams at the top (including Dallas) are considering Baine or McCoy. Too many ? to use a premium pick.

That's 4 picks ahead of us but only Three 1st round grade defenders:

Lot's of room for strange things to happen including more WR/OT going top 10. Heck, maybe we take Baine and he turns into an All Pro despite 30 years of short arm data saying otherwise. But me right now, I'm trading up to #6 all day if I can get Downs and let some other team be the hero that gambles on an outlier.

What's this... I was told that Todd France would take no less than $10 mil per year for his golden kicker!?!

I guess holding Jerry's feet to the fire (like he did with Dak) doesn't work when the Cowboys have all the leverage.

Making Aubrey the highest paid kicker in the league, a little more than the next guy, was appropriate and fair.

I get not taking him top 5 because of some of the measurables, but at 12 he'd almost certainly be the BPA. The car accident thing is a complete nothing burger by NFL off the field standards.

I get they're not identical players, but you can see the similarities? I'd have rather kept Osa and used him as an SDE.

Teams who turn down great players due to "fit" almost always end up regretting it. If you get a guy that talented at 12 you say thanks and find a way to get him on the field.

I don't see the Osa comparison at all. Completely different body types, skill sets, positions, everything.

Bain might be the poster child for how teams feel about this draft. He's far from a sure bet, but you'll also have a hard time arguing why other prospects should be higher.

His arms are a huge concern with historical data suggesting he will never hit double digit sacks. His film is also contradictory... plenty of games where he was a non factor... but fast forward to the playoffs and he was unblockable.



Me personally, yeah, I'd take him at 12 if Styles/Downs/Delane are gone.
