The names are not who I expected, but this is the direction I figured they would go. Offense/Defense with 112 & 14.
Still feel like RB with the next pick could be big time value if the right guys fall. Legitimate chance to not only make the team, but be our #2 back..

With the Cowboys 7 picks away, Harold Perkins Jr sure feels like a typical Jerry-gamble. Relatively low risk but very high upside

Don't hate the pick, but I'm not sure how well Perkins fits after the Barham pick. Same reason why those smaller Nickel players didn't get a look after we took Downs.
There are limited roster spots and despite the popular opinion, it's not like we have 10 open spots on D.
My Goal for this last 4th rounder is get a guy that can legit compete for a roster spot and possibly win a role as a rotation guy.

Overton is an OK pick I suppose for the 4th round. They will most likely lock him into a "hold the line" role. I think in this defense they call that the 4i spot.
His job will be to eat up blocks so that Lawrence, Eze and Gary can eat. I suppose maybe Sam Williams too assuming he's not jumping off sides or grabbing a face mask.

I think Dee Winters and Louis are very similar.

All in all, between the picks and the trade, this was an extremely productive 3 days that should address many of their defensive issues. This team could make a huge leap in 2026 because the offense is there. Just drag that defense back closer to average or a bit below average vs total dog****, and you have something (IF they can keep Dak upright - that is my main offensive worry)
Agreed. I heard an interview with Darren Woodson and he seemed to think just having someone on defense to make sure guys lined up right would make a huge difference (Downs). Beyond that, it seems like they added some good pieces to add to the mix and see what happens.
Yeah, I think they could be a TON better on defense. Now they need to be a ton better, but they were so stinking predictable with their looks on the back-end and so stinking bad in general. With Parker + real talent, i'm hopeful to see a huge leap. Gotta keep Dak healthy though. Don't love either OT
I think Steele is perfectly fine / average for a RT. Look at it this way, if he were any better he'd want a lot more money that we might not have paid and we'd be dealing with some dude who really was bad.

If York doesn't get drafted anyone think Dallas brings him in as UDFA?
Still smh at York declaring when he could have gotten a healthy payday to stay. For supposedly the most cerebral player on our defense, he's made what seems to be a very dumb, pre-NIL decision.
Looks like there will be real talent available for UDFA contracts. Lots of guys ranked by prognosticators 4-5 round may fall out completely
