Woke up today still excited about Lawrence and Downs. They crushed it on players, flipped those 2 5's compensatory picks for 2 4th rounders

Need a LB in the middle and this defense is top 15

Exactly this. But do it in such a way as to not sacrifice 2027 picks. That draft is gonna be loaded compared to this year.

Given how this draft levels out and that they'll be limited in how far they can move up, I'd become a LB volume shooter in the 3rd and 4th and hope you hit. Maybe if u see someone you like get decently into the 3rd you move up. I don't really see 2nd happening, at least not far enough up into it to be worth it

I doubt it.. McShay has been saying for 6 months that there's a Rams / Simpson connection.

He pivoted a little bit a month or 2 ago when the Rams GM started the F*** Them Picks stuff again as he'd heard McVay and Stafford may be riding off into the sunset together and the Rams were going all in on winning 1 more. But he recently pivoted back and started talking about the Rams going WR in the 2nd round and to watch for Simpson at 13.

There's a Pitt guy that's supposed to be good but he's like 220lbs and more of a speed/cover guy that'll struggle shedding linemen. and there's a Cinncinnatti dude that's longer and supposed to be good too but he's not super atheltic.

My take is the Cowboys don't have enough to move into the 2nd round so we have to sit and wait it out. We can, however, move up from 92 (end of the 3rd) and get to around the middle half of the 3rd round... cost would be one of our early 4th rounders.

Even if we trade up, the pick is likely not a name we've been talking about. You expect J-Rod and CJ Allen types to be gone in the 2nd.

It's all icing on the cake at this point, looking forward to seeing how tonight plays out!

We now have 5 picks starting at 92 and ending at 152. We have a 7th also, but those 5 are your dart throws and we've done a good job hitting in this range. This is a dramatically better situation than what we started with last night!

I can see us double dipping at LB for sure. There are some nice big boy DTs and CBs out there. There are also some really nice Safety and edge prospects that could end up being a BPA situation.

Don't be surprised if we see an OT picked up somewhere.... and my Aggie related pet cat is grabbing Nate Boerkircher with our 5th rounder.

I'll throw out some names of guys that Dallas has spent a lot of time with. Some of these guys might fall into the 3rd and some of these are projected middle of the draft guys. Worth watching as we sit and wait for the 60 day 2 picks in front of us.

Cashius Howell (I seriously think he might slide into the 3rd with his shorter than Bain arms)

Harold Perkins (OLB / Edge)

Tons of mocks had Dallas taking McCoy at 12. Was never on board with that and to see them get the best defensive player instead is incredible.

Simpson said in a post-draft interview that he'd never met McVay.

Apparently, Rams GM Les Snead is also close friends with Ty Simpson's father (who is a coach at UT-Martin) and Snead helped advise the family on whether or not Simpson should go pro.

I tend to agree with you on that Mac. A player will have to fall first, but I do think they will trade 1 or 2 of those 4th rounders to move up for the right guy.

There are people who have Rodriguez (as an example) as a 3rd rounder. We are currently going into what most consider the real value of this draft. There are around 50-ish players still on the board with similar grades. It's anybody's guess who will get picked and who will fall.

The draft has smiled on us already, I'm not shocked at all if fortune favors us tonight.

For anybody curious about the draft trade values:

If we want to jump into the top 5 picks of the 3rd round it's going to cost us 92 and our two early 4ths (112 & 114). That's a lot of value and I'm not sure Dallas would do that.

If we can wait it out until the 10-15 pick range of the 3rd round, we can probably get there with just 92 & 112. This is the range I think Dallas would feel more comfortable with.

Hey. I'm dynamic.. can't pidgeon hole me like that.

I want starters and lots of them. we just got 2 good ones int he 1st, and we have the opportunity to get 1 more in the 2nd to fill out our defense. those late round picks are for someone else.

the Giants tears are fantastic

They made a smart pick, fans always want the flash. They need to fix OL.

Stephen said it again last night and as a team, they do not believe in trading multiple picks for one player. 1-2 yea, but they don't believe trading 4-5 low end picks to move up for 1 guy is smart.

I think the back end picks are worthless so I'd rather trade em for a sure fire hit LB but oh well.

If Trotter starts sliding - Move the hell up and go get him.

This is my guy right here!

I love the idea of J-Rod same as most, but Trotter is just so good.

He's not going to come in as a rookie and wear the green dot for us... but he is a read it, attack it and finish it son of a gun! I love this kid and I would 100% trade 92 & 112 to go get him if he's in range.

I'm sure his wallet and stats would have been similar on most of the other teams, but I'm sure he'd like to be in the post season more than once in his career. Thought some of the trade requests his agent was putting out there last year might amount to something, but CLE just paid him more. Tough spot for him, but I guess I'd settle to get paid that kind of money to never make a post season!

Garrrett's stats would be way better on another team. He set the sack record despite facing a historically low number of passing downs. The Browns were always terrible and behind, so the other team just kept running out the clock. He could have hit 30 sacks on a team that could build a lead and force the other team to pass
