I did eye a set of ripstick 88's very lightly used demos I found for sale, but as cheap as I am, I also know condition is subjective if you can't see them in person. I'll give the lines a couple of seasons and if I don't like them I'll sell or trade them.
I'll probably grab some Ripstick 96 blacks before the season is over.
Reminder, Rips are dedicated L/R ski. The profile is tuned to each.
What's the difference in the black vs standard? I'm demoing some ripsticks when we head up in 2 weeks.
Looking at the 96/175s
Additional carbon rods. Both through the shovel and tail. If you're a charger/lay an edge, I'd go with them.
Ski is stupid light, so I'll take the stability. I'm on the fence if I'll de-tune. Will bring a hard gummy the first morning to evaluate.
I started poking around for deals this morning and pulled the trigger on 96 in 188 (50% off right now all over the web). I'll mount shifts and use them for spring touring also.
Quiver now: 80 / 84 / 96 / 104 / 112 / 120.
80 / 112 are what I bring to the hill 75% of days (morning ski, afternoon ski). Ripsticks will get into that rotation as well. 112 is also new snow ski until 8" or so. Then 120 for the obvious days. 104 is touring dedicated ski, it's also a great corn ski - but 96 will 100% be replacing that. I haven't touched the 84 in two seasons. Heading to Craigslist.
Edit: Oops, outed my ****posting sock. This is RR.
