I'm not really mad, just indifferent right now. We've raised our floor but seriously neutered our ceiling. Until they go out and get truly electric wingers who can create problems for back lines, it's going to look a lot like this.

Also, I love the guy and what he does for us, but the lack of offensive impact we get from Szoboszlai really hurts us, especially in this format playing so many midfielders. He should be a shadow striker and runner when we have the ball, and he's not. He sits on the ball so long, doesn't make enough runs or causes the issue. Again I love him, but it would be nice for him to take a big step offensively speaking.

And I get the frustration with Slot, I do. He's taken our energy and aggression out which I don't personally love, but on the other hand I also don't know what he's really supposed to do with the players he has at his disposal right now. Playing Rio more is about all I can think of.

Sounds like Liverpool are on the verge of signing Club Brugge right-sided CB Joel Ordonez. He's a 21-year-old Ecuadorian who has already made 105 appearances for Club Brugge and I think 14 or 15 CAPPs for Ecuador (he should start in the WC for them this summer). He's about 6'2" and seems to be pretty aggressive and athletic. Fee supposed to be around 35 million pounds.

Szoboszlai is not being give the freedom he should be. Remember when Klopp first showed up a Liverpool? He needed an engine to spark his heavy metal football. And that was Lallana. Now Slot is never going to play gegenpressing football, but Szoboszlai needs to be let loose. Keep the rigidity behind him if you want, but let this engine roar, please. This team is begging for an offensive spark. Also, Rio proved in his 6 min cameo why he is a better option than Gakpo. Kid was a menace from the first moment he took the pitch. Play him!

I do agree that Rio needs more minutes. He's the only winger on the team right now that brings what we are missing the most. If you don't want to play him 75+ minutes no problem, give him 45 to 60 every other game.

If we're being honest about Szbo I don't really think he's a No. 10. He's a No. 10 in specific systems, and a No. 8 in most others. I don't think he has quite the offensive chops or decision making to play in the EPL as a No. 10 where you have teams like Leeds who are so dogged in playing 10 men on the 18 yard box. Szbo should be playing RM for us right now where he has space to use his best assets while we have no one else. Wirtz should be stuck as a central No. 10 and never ever moved, but again we don't have anyone else to do these jobs right now.

Ekitike out with injury. Might as well play a low block ourselves and hope for a tie lol.

I think not crossing midfield is a great idea for both teams. Just stare at each other from your own half haha.

In somewhat seriousness though, the bench is absolutely hilarious and dreadful; Mamardashvili, woodman, Gomez, Chiesa, Robertson, Nyoni, Ramsay and Ngumoha. That's like two and a half subs.

It is what it is. We're super limited and one dimensional right now and I don't think it's going to change until you get more new guys in here, which will probably be over the summer. Hold firm and keep getting results.

Biggest thing the rest of the year for me id making sure Wirtz, Ekitike, Kerkez, and Frimpong continue to acclimatize and develop in the EPL.

Two months ago while we were in the midst of the worst run of ball the club has seen in 50 years I was more on board with it because we were not adjusting whatsoever and hemorrhaging goals, but now we've made significant adjustments with injuries and brought ourselves back to life.

I just think this idea that we fire Slot is a little ridiculous right now considering the team he's got to work with. I miss our higher tempo press oriented team as much as anyone, but WE DONT HAVE THOSE PLAYERS ANYMORE. If we could bring in Fabregas, De Zerbi or Iraola then sure id be fine with letting him go, but other than that it's a total crap shoot.

Seems premature to me as a non Liverpool fan, won the league easily last year and is in a CL qualifying spot this year. Regression was bound to happen and layer in new guys not seeming to fit in well and here you are. Don't see what firing him would do

I have never been on the "Fire Slot" train. Even during that terrible run of form we had in October/November. Some of y'all were not fans of Liverpool before 2015 and it shows. In the early 2000s we were a decent side that competed in all fronts. Won a weird treble in 2001, picked up a couple of FA Cups, a couple EFL cups, and the infamous CL in 2005. We were in and around the top 4 consistently. Then we fell off a cliff in 2008. Rafa left in 2010. Roy Hodgson was arguably the worst manager we've ever had. King Kenny did us a favor in taking over the team and somehow won us an EFL Cup. Brendan Rodgers was out of his depth, but Luis Suarez almost single handedly won us an EPL title in 13-14. And then the greatest Liverpool manager (and human being) of my lifetime walked through the Anfield gates and revitalized this club. Slot tweaked the system a bit and got us No. 20. Then we had this huge summer overhaul where if everyone is fit, likely 5-6 of those guys start. So HALF THE STARTERS are new. I think the higher ups knew we need to flip the roster and have been prepared for a season of transition. Keep in mind Frimpong has been injured most of the season, Isak has never been fully fit, Eilitile has picked up a knock, and Wirtz has need time to settle (but looks to be figuring it out the last few weeks). Salah has need to tweak his game since TAA is no longer behind him and hasn't quite figured that all out yet. Plus AFCON. Plus Jota. This is a club still in mourning and a team in transition.

I think as long as Slot keeps us top 4, plus makes a deep cup run in either CL or FA Cup, he is safe. Not the season in transition we envisioned but here we are. Slot delivered a title in May, he has earned the right to right this ship. We've been hit with an injury bug forcing us to play FIVE CMs today with Gakpo up top. We will get healthy, we will get better. This isn't 2011.

I'm only 29, and admittedly starting watching Liverpool in 2016-2017, so you're correct. I quite literally woke up early one morning in college and the EPL was on and it was Liverpool running wild up and down the field. Liverpool were still pretty fragile at the back end but you could tell that as soon as they introduced Salah they had something. I've gone back and read about pre-Klopp with Rafa and Rogers in particular, and I agree I think people have forgotten some of those teams and seasons even with Stevie G.

I just cant understand how people don't see that this team/roster is in major, major transition, coupled with injuries galore and the fact that the front office completely neglected the wide areas of the pitch in attack. If people want to be mad be mad at the front office for bottling the roster management and needing to do this massive roster turnover in a short amount of time instead of doing it gradually over the last few years, all while you have a relatively new manager.
