It's hard to throw stat after stat at us when you don't have them on a computer screen in front of you. It forces Simmons to try and talk basketball like an analyst and you can tell it's just not there.
I'm still baffled about all you people who say he's great in writing. He's not. Just endless diatribes about a subject that's not even relevant to 99% of the basketball world.

I enjoy his writing. It entertains me. I also enjoy his podcasts. He has great guests. And I really love grantland. There are many columns and blog posts that I enjoy reading each week.

Haha Simmons said Boris doesn't need to shoot 3 pointers. Then he compared him to Josh Smith. Well upon glancing at stats, here is what I found:
Josh Smith: 55/221 for 24.9%
Boris Diaw: 38/86 for 44.2%
Dude was talking out of his ass last night.

Diaw also picks his shots much better than trigger happy Josh Smith. He's shot less than half the number of 3s because he's only taking them when he's wiiiide open with no one around him, which is why he's able to knock down over 40%. Smith will jack up 3s with a hand in his face likes it's going out of style.
Also Simmons likes to talk about how overpaid Tiago Splitter is. However, as frustrating as he can be at times, last night illustrated why he got the contract he did. Competent big men are a rare commodity and always paid more than they should, Splitter certainly has his short comings offensively, but he can run the pick and role effectively, he's a good passer for a center, and he's a great defensive player. Last night Tiago had 10 points, 8 rebounds, and several blocks including a couple dunk rejections. He doesn't put up the sexy stats, but he rotates and moves very well and is a good rim protector.
Agree, Diet. Especially as he does a better job going hard to the offensive bucket. FTs have improved as well.
