You have to give up assets to dump EG. He's not going anywhere. Tank commander the next 2 years.

Phew that is some kind of list.HotardRat said:
Could definitely see this going the route of a soft tank through milking injury recovery times rather than a hard tank. But like Farmer said, at full strength, we're too good to tank. If the team were to be fully healthy and playing together for a couple of months, I think we're better than the
TWolves
Spurs
Grizzlies
Thunder
Kings
Pelicans
Mavs (maybe)
Blazers (maybe)
Not when the Grizz get healthy (not a knock on the rockets, as i've been bullish on the Grizz all pre season). I think once they get JJJ and Winslow back this team is going to take off.Quote:
Grizzlies? Yes, better than the Grizzlies.
Gordon is not trade bait. If anything, Rockets would have to give away picks for someone to take him.Bulldog73 said:
Tucker, Oladipo, and Gordon are all potentially trade bait. Wall is a big injury question. I don't think we'll intentionally tank, but if we do start sending out some of those pieces, it could get ugly, fast.
It depends how you define "trade bait".Texan_Aggie said:Gordon is not trade bait. If anything, Rockets would have to give away picks for someone to take him.Bulldog73 said:

Gordon is what he is, he is a mediocre aging star with a big contract.
He was a net negative player last year when he shot just .510 TS% and was .369/.317 from FG/3.Harry Dunne said:It depends how you define "trade bait".Texan_Aggie said:Gordon is not trade bait. If anything, Rockets would have to give away picks for someone to take him.Bulldog73 said:

Is Stone going to be able to trade him straight up for anything of value? Probably not - that contract makes it near impossible. Would a playoff team value a player of his caliber coming off the bench? Definitely so.
But even if we had to package him together with picks or other players and received nothing in return other than getting out from underneath that contract, it would be worth it.
I don't define "trade bait" as having to pay someone to take him off our hands. I think collecting picks is of greater value than offloading Gordon.Harry Dunne said:It depends how you define "trade bait".Texan_Aggie said:Gordon is not trade bait.
