Either way it makes sense to move on. At this point all the minutes need to go to guys who are part of the future or guys who at least might be.

Tillman needs to change his rep around the league. It was the right thing to do and he probably won't have to pay it as long as another team signs him.
I was a big fan of signing Cousins as I really didn't expect his mobility to be so bad. He should have some value to somebody but I don't think anyone would be willing to give up anything for him.
To "do him right". Rockets need to repair their image and doing this should help make it more attractive to free agents (especially veteran FAs).AG@RICE said:

Going to be in Toyota Center for the first time since last Feb. We are a very different team today but I am excited to see the Rockets in person.
KPJ and KJ Martin have been obliterating the G league. Apparently the staff thinks KPJ could be the PG of the future and is grooming him for that role.
KPJ absolutely should get called up after our trade deadline moves so he can learn under Wall's tutelage.

Can't call up KPJ and KMJ because it's better for them to be playing 30 minutes per for RGV than 12 here. They can't get 30 minutes here because we need to play EG and Tucker to keep their trade value high... although I think maybe we should have traded Gordon while he was hot. 1-10 from 3 tonight.
The most frustrating part is that despite these veterans we are still terrible and that won't even get us a good pick...probably. Also don't love trotting absolute spares like Kurucs and Patton (who?) out there.
Nwaba, Jones & Mason are all nice off the bench. I like Tate lot. He's got a high motor & does a nice job of being opportunistic & is decent enough from 3 but he's not really a scorer and when Gordon is shooting 1-10 from 3 and Tucker is standing in the corner still waiting for James Harden to be doubled up and whip it over to him, it's not going to work out.

KPJ turnover numbers have been steadily growing and KMJ needs to spend more time playing against defense with legitimate rim protectors. I'm worried their development will start to plateau soon. We need to get rid of our deadweight so they can actually get better playing against consistent competition.
I also like this kid Armoni Brooks from UH. He played in the d-league last year and and made 40% of 3s on 5 attempts per game. RGV drafted him first in the d-league draft and this year he is hitting 39% for RGV while taking 10 attempts a game. I'd rather him chuck up 5-6 3s a game instead of EG shooting from 45 feet outside the arc or Ben Mclemore trying to hit a running three off a screen.

Was there as well last night and because it was clear early on that another L was coming, we made it a point to watch one player as much as possible (in game and on the bench) and that player was Ben McLemore. And holy hell is he terrible in this system. He was either on the warm-up bike for some reason, lost on defense for both rotation D and transition D, and just jacked up shots that damn near everyone in the arena (all 26 of us) knew had not chance of going in. He is so terrible.

Was planning on snagging cheapies for the rest of the games since there are only a handful more and we're not gonna make the playoffs; might just earmark tickets for the Brooklyn game because hopefully James is suited up that night. Otherwise, this season has been complete ass. Still wondering what's gonna happen with the game that got postponed opening night against OKC; still need my money back on that one.
Had a similar conversation with my brother last night. You know Ben is terrible when he is struggling to get on the floor with this team. The whole team looked bad last night but he stood out because he looked like he had never played basketball before.
I asked customer service last night about the cancelled game and they had no idea what I was talking about. Guess I am going to have to call the Rockets to get my money back for opening night. You figure they would have communicated something by now.
The 2nd half schedule hasn't been released yet. They won't know anything about that game until then.

I didn't get my money back from the rangers until a year later and I had to demand it

Should we be thinking about moving Wall as well? We don't look like a team that will be ready to compete while he is still a viable point guard.

He needs to learn how to play D and be more careful with the ball, but he can get any shot he wants any time. His talent will never be in question...he oozes it....it's all about his mental stability and maturity moving forward.
On one hand, I can't wait to get him up to the Rockets; on the other hand, the Rockets current culture is probably worse than RGV. The press conferences last night from John Wall and Olidipo were pretty depressing. It might be better for KPJ to stay at RGV so he doesn't absorb any of the negativity that this prolonged losing streak is generating. With RGV he seems to be a great teammate and a positive influence.
Its a tough call with this kid. If the Rockets nail this situation, they will have found a top 15 talent for nothing. Its worth slow playing it no matter how bad the Rockets are playing.
No way he gets moved before the offseason.
