Against who? He's a good pitcher, I don't think anyone is arguing that, but it is a little early to draped yourself all over his sack.

Toronto is currently 15th in runs scored and Baltimore is 19th. 2 of the 3 starts have been at home and it is common knowledge that pitching usually comes out of the gate much faster than hitting.

Maybe he is an elite talent. But he's gotta prove it by going through the league a time or two, allowing for scouts to put together some tape of him. 3 starts in april means nothing to anyone with actual knowledge of the sport.

keep driving the mfy hype machine though token, it's what you do best.

I think Tanaka will be well above average when it's all said and done, he could be elite similar to Yu. With that said, I think the stretch he's had is amazing, but I'm not crowning any pitcher through just 3 starts. If he carries this momentum to the break then we can start talking about how elite he is, I just think it's too early for that, at this time.

In other news, can the Red Sox please start hitting with RISP my god..it's been an absolutely atrocious thing to watch so far

The Red Sox are 4-1 when Ross is catching.

Although he said a 5 year old could have caught Lester last night, he is a great game manager.

congrats token, the mfy blew out a good team on the road throwing their best pitcher. You're crowing is actually valid for a change.

And man the Lester/Sale game last night was a beauty to watch if you enjoy pitchers duels. Glad the good Sox came out on top

That wasn't a "first pitch," that was a tryout. Springer probably wouldn't have fared much worse than Bedard did had he stayed out there. Luckily, the visiting pitchers had an even more disappointing evening.

Yes I loved the result last night, but please MLB, fix the stupid transfer rule. It is so disgustingly bad, it's embarrassing. Flaherty had the ball last night and it wasn't close. Yes I was happy they stupidly called him safe bug really come on. Fix the stupid rule

Buch chased as O's bat around...there's no way 3 run HR's and errors lead to a sox comeback, right?

Sox rally comes up short. Buchholz was pretty bad today. His velocity was down a couple MPH and he was missing his locations, leaving pitches over the plate. I'm still questioning the Herrera for Ross move. If Herrera is going to sacrifice them over that's fine, but why let him swing away over Ross? Ross has had good ABs of late and did just go yard. Then IDK if X or Nava missed the sign but that was a huge killer in the 8th..

Having been there a time or two, Boston always wins Patriots Day.

O's hang on although I was pretty sure it was last night all over again. Manny and JJ please for the love of God come back soon.

Tonight @ 7:10 pm on MLB network.

Lester v. Tanaka.

Predict Ellsbury's return and Jeter's first at bat.

I'm guessing Ells will get booed but not like Damon did.

Jeter will get a long standing O.

Should be a great game!
SapperAg

You think Ells will get booed? He didn't make quite the show that Damon made before leaving town and he's returning after winning us a WS. There may be a few boo birds, but I would expect some applause too. Jeter will get a nice reception.
Say Chowdah

Yeah. I think so. It won't be Damonesque. Ells didn't mean the same to the team that Damon did. But I think he due some vinegar.

Youk got applause because he didn't have anything really to do with it.
Dropkicked Murphy

They both deserve to get booed heavily. Ells chose to sign with the sub-human "organization" down in the bronx. I don't begrudge him his payday, he earned the chance to get to FA (didn't deserve that contract but whatever, glad the mfy are overpaying), but if you sign with the rival, you deserve to get booed in Boston. That's the way it should be, regardless of what he did in a Red Sox uniform.

If he had done the right thing and signed anywhere else, then yeah he should get an ovation (like the one damon got when he came back with cleveland), but he chose to sell his soul to the devil. He should be made to know it.

As for capt america, **** that broken down has been. Let him get his ovations and token gifts from every other city he visits on his last lap around the league. He should never be applauded in Boston. I don't want Ortiz getting an ovation when he steps into the batter's box for the last time at new mfy toilet.

The hatred should always be flowing through the 2 fan bases. It may not be "classy", but rivalries are supposed to be heated. Otherwise, they'd just be another opponent on the schedule.

What about Youk? Did he deserve to get booed?

And I know that you don't remember this, but Yaz got a standing o his last time in Yankee Stadium.

Yaz was Carl Yazstremski. He was the captain of the Red Sox, wore number 8 and was the last player to earn the triple crown until Miggy did it. (He is before 04 so I don't expect you to remember that.)

Ells won't get what Damon got.

Damon was greeted with pitch forks and torches. The friggin lynchmob showed up at the park and they were out for blood.

There are degrees of bile and his was the worst I'd ever seen. Damon was the face of the Sox. Ells wasn't even close to that.

Clemens return was second.

Boggs was third.

I don't think Ells will be among those but he will definitely hear it!

What's funny is Damon wasn't even a real red Sox. He was a 4 year journey man there. Jacoby was a lifer

How can he be a lifer. He had 2 contracts there (I think)? Yeah, he came up through their system, but he'd been trade bait for the previous 2 seasons.

Meaning his entire career was as a Boston Red Sox, drafted, debut, ws championship etc
