Did you see the crazy stat that Verlander is 111-2 when the Tigers spot him 5 runs or more?

Well, he is still 111 - 2. He didn't get the loss.

But they surely jinxed him with that.

Sox are planning on talking with Lester

Not that this is necessarily news but I am glad to see that they are publically acknowleging their desire to get him back.

So ARod paid his cousin $900,000 to keep quiet. Interesting where this is going.

After signing Russell Martin, the Blue Jays have now acquired Josh Donaldson from Oakland.

The Baltimore Orioles declined their half of the $17.5 million mutual option for the 2015 season on Markakis' contract, instead paying him a $2 million buyout to make him a free agent.

What a bunch of cheap asses!

But the word on local tv is that they are negotiating an extension for Ubaldo Jiminez! So you've got to like that!

Today I met a personnel development employee of the Sox at my daughter's baseball camp. He said he has high hopes for this season. He's worked with Boegarts and a few others extensively. He also throws BP to the team when not on scouting trips. He talked about doing BP with Papi and even he solicited his input following sessions.

He was never a prospect. He played college ball at Amherst and was hired by the Sox following an internship.

Made me realize that could have been me.

The reason he was there is because the camp is run by former collegiate players. One of whom played with him. His point was that a career in Baseball isn't just as a player. He talked about his two world series rings that he has and that it is a coordinated team effort well beyond the players and the organization requires and respects people who aren't on the field.

Yes, Token, the Yankees even need accountants! So if you ever decide to not let your pencil pushing, pocket protecting, geekdom get in the way, you could pal around with Girardi while doing his taxes!

Just got a picture from my parents of them with Jacoby Ellsbury. He donated $1 million to OSU baseball and attended the big dinner they have.

Well you could still work for the Yankees as their own personal financial analyst. All you'd need to do is find out what pizza joint they like most and then have them drop their business cards. In exchange for a free pizza you can sell a comprehensive life insurance under the guise of wealth management! If they don't have biz cards just have them sign their baseball card.
