I'm interested to see the caliber of prospects they're giving up for what's essentially, a one-year rental.

Lunhow basically deserves a pass regardless of what happens this year. I just hope that at some point we are able to make a push for a big name or 2 and win a championship.
They already had a good closer too. We needed him more. Apparently they're gonna do situational closing and use them both.
The didn't give up much. I'm not sure what they ended up giving up but from what I understand they avoided giving up either one of their top three prospects.
And it looks like they want to go with a KC type approach of building from the back end of the BP. With the money that's being thrown around to starters that may not be a bad approach to take.

I found it interesting no names were mentioned of the prospects traded.
Chapman in some trouble with the law. Apparently fired 8 gun shots and choked his gf
No arrests made due to lack of cooperation. Police report that she found something on his phone she didn't like. No injuries reported, but he admitted to firing the 8 shots. (Listening to mlb roundup.)

Kazmir needs to be on the Roger Clemens plan and show up in June. Maybe then he can finish down the stretch. I'd love to have the Kazmir from last April through July.

I know I may be in the minority on this one but I think Carlos is big piece of what we want to do next year and I'm not in favor of dealing him, especially for young prospects. That seems like a step back.

Yeah I've read that he's available but they've not come close to dealing him because everyone has been so far off due to their asking price.

Jose Fernandez, personality wise, is the pitcher version of Carlos Gomez.
The Marlins are asking for first born sons for Fernandez... Report says that the Yankees were willing to part with top arm Luis Severino. But the Marlins wouldn't be likely to accept a trade even if it also included another one of their top prospects in Greg Bird..
With that being said, it would take something like Appel, Reed, and Bregman or Cameron to get him.... Way too much to give up.

Appel at this point is a throw in to a deal. He's older than Fernandez and can't get out of AAA. Who knows what you have in the guys you drafted last year but they would have to be ptbnl because they haven't been in the organization for a calendar year

Agreed. I think k gogo bounces back and has a big year.
