I would love to see Hailey get some starts. She mentions Scout and I would like to see her get some starts, too, but I think it would be Hailey first. They are two of my favorites. Both are always smiling and very popular on the team. Great Aggies. I would vote for Scout to wear #12 in a heartbeat.

Only one week away (and a few hours) from the first Fall game !!

Thanks in advance to those able to attend and report live from Davis !!

Will certainly be interesting to see who starts but the big 'tell' will be who starts vs Texas State and tu, games #4 and 5 of the 7-game Fall schedule.

Not to clog this thread up but just wanted to share something really cool. My daughter, hopeful softball c/o '36 Aggie, and I, are flying out of DFW today to go and spend a weekend with Rick Pauly, world renowned pitching coach in Virginia.

She's a softball fanatic, loves pitching, idolizes Amanda Scarborough, and one day hopes to play for the school I love and taught her to love! Just thought this was really cool and a great opportunity for her.

We'll be watching the first fall ball game together next week. Gig 'em!

I am really looking forward to seeing what the 'other Taylor', Taylor Brown, can do. Was tough waiting out her whole redshirt season but will probably see her this Fall. Waiting a whole season to see Ariel was tough, too.

Also Tallen and Kelsey. Tallen had only 4 errors and 8 SO's last year and we got to see Kelsey only at the end of the season and she did really well, will this continue?

Gosh, only a few more days until the first game of the Fall - whoop !!

I remember being excited for Ariel but tend to forget since she had to sit a year. Agree though, excited to see all of the ladies have a great season. The new Ags, those returning, and especially those who have been waiting and working hard behind the scenes to earn their time to play!

My wife and I made 35 home games this year, Friday will be our first exhibition though. Any rule differences? ex: length of game, mercy rule, substitutions allowed...

Free substitutions. Most are a standard 7 innings. Some are 10 and they may start with runners on in the extra innings to practice those situations

Nice! I was hoping they could try different players / situations freely.

Also noticed no concessions open Friday - bring your own!

Friday is 10 innings.

Ford hasn't done this too much. But I have seen fail ball games where they got into a 4 hitter rotation just to get them reps late in the fall. It can sometimes be the Wild West.

Agree! Here Softball America / Rivals profile showed "no interest", "no offers", or "no contact". So hard to tell what was happening behind the scenes.

Now curious if this is it for the staff or....., lol.

Gianna Mancha now listed on the roster page as "Pitching Coordinator". Nice for her to get an official title on the staff !! I am not sure but I think she has been with the Aggies for two years, always in the dugout with Coach Ford.

After waiting all summer, thinking about the new players (Freshmen and transfers), who will start and where, etc. it is really cool to write ... the first Fall game is TOMORROW.

Also includes this about concessions:

Gates open at 5 p.m. for Friday's 10-inning contest. Concessions will be closed, but fans are encouraged to bring outside food and non-alcoholic drinks.

The fall slate continues with a three-day stretch of games against Baylor (Oct. 8), McLennan (Oct. 9) and Texas State (Oct. 10). Concessions will be available Oct. 8 and 10, and outside food and drinks will not be permitted.

Got this from a recruiting thread on another message board. Shows you the dominance of the conference we call ours. Data is of 8:30 AM today. The other 7 conferences aggregated are still 3 shy of tying the SEC value.

I hope so !! Last year we got 'live updates' for all games except the last one (Texas State). Often several reported from Davis.
