Just had 9 strikes within 6 miles of Olsen field in the last 2 minutes.

Thats why you don't play baseball with lighting.
You don't need rain or to be able to see lightning for it to be present.
Just FYI for all the weather experts on here or going by TWC radar on their phone

I don't know how that could possibly be true whenever there's not even rain within 30 miles of college Station

It's not, but if you know the poster, let him have his moment. And, disclaimer, with the instability of the atmosphere, it doesn't mean more might form and threaten, and the storm passing south of town might get close enough to produce a strike that would fall within the range. But, there's nothing "west" that is producing lightning that would effect the game at this moment.
