Does anyone know what Ilinca's injury is? I don't see any physical signs of injury and having her on the court just to push the other players down a line would've been a big deal. Hopefully it isn't anything eligibility related.

Darn it. Welll, we have the rest of the SEC schedule and will get 'em back in the final of the tourney.

Probably too early to ask this, but will Ilinca and Lulu be out playing in BJKC the last week of the regular season (at Oklahoma + at Arkansas)?

I was told that once Mark had to pull Ilinca out of the doubles lineup then the rule is at the mercy of Georgia to basically decide the order of the lineup which seems absurd to me.

I really do think we win with Ilinca.

The three points I was most worried about were doubles, Mia, and Daria. That was with Ilinca playing. We went 0-3 on those which was too much to overcome.

Bright spots.

Lulu is a legit top #1 even against top teams.
Illinca is one of the best in the league at 3 (when healthy)
Lex is one of the best in the league at 4 (3 today)
Lulu and Mia are playing great doubles

Our weakness:
Bottom of the lineup simply isn't consistent.

I'll raise you one. Ilinca is one of the best in the nation. I truly think she can step into line 1 if needed, and she's just getting started. She is a HUGE difference maker. I would also say, that 1-5 we are better than almost anyone in the nation. Line 6 is inconsistent, but could be a difference maker as well with her experience. Line 6 is very tough to play.

Went to the match yesterday. Some interesting lineups by Georgia. Missed a few close points on doubles 2 that might have flipped things.

Did anyone ever note why Ilinca didn't play?

I'm assuming it's nothing serious. Hopefully just precautionary. What sucks most about this is that Georgia and their coaches (and ex coaches) were the ones complaining the most about her joining our team on social media.

We will beat George in the finals this year with her playing and they are more than likely to complain a lot more

Mark didn't flip 2&3 doubles. Georgia flipped it per SEC rules. It is the opposing coaches choice once a doubles player is taken out of the lineup at the last minute.

Ah. Well. That was a smart call for them then.

It won't be Georgia in the finals. Auburn is the best team in the SEC this year.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION -- The No. 5 Texas A&M Women's tennis team hosts No. 22 South Carolina at the Mitchell Tennis Center Saturday with first serve set for 12 p.m.

The Aggies enter the match with a 13-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in SEC play. The Maroon & White most recently faced No. 1 Georgia, falling 5-2, marking their first conference loss of the season.

The matchup features several ranked players across both lineups. Texas A&M is led by No. 5 Lucciana Perez, who owns a perfect 15-0 record on the season, including a 6-0 mark in conference play. The Aggies also feature three additional ranked singles players including No. 28 Mia Kupres, No. 60 Ilinca Amariei and No. 86 Violeta Martinez.

South Carolina counters with two ranked singles players, No. 47 Kaitlyn Carnicella and No. 77 Helena Buchwald. In doubles play, the Gamecocks boast three ranked teams, No. 21 Lauren Friedman/Buchwald, No. 44 Kaitlyn Carnicella/Bella Bergqvist Larsson and No. 82 Friedman/Sara Borkop.

South Carolina enters the contest with a 9-5 overall record and a 2-4 mark in SEC play. The Gamecocks are 1-2 in road matches this season.
