The finale definitely set me on the path of Kim's fate being jail.

Which possibly means that's Gene's fate is a reunion with Kim in Nebraska.

SIAP but here is a good interview with Tony Dalton (Lalo):

https://consequenceofsound.net/2020/04/better-call-saul-tony-dalton-lalo-salamanca/

edit: at the end he mentions he thinks they'll still be on schedule to start shooting the last season in September. Hope he is right.

I love the idea of a Lalo prequel. You get Lalo, Tuco, the twins, Hector and intro some new Salamanca's. They could do a lot with that story line.

In BB does Saul ever make reference to his living arrangements? That is, does he say if he lives in a house or apartment?

My heart was pounding! I can't remember a show/movie had that affect. But then it just ended! They say leave them wanting more, but that episode left me wanting too much. No resolution to anything.

Not the best episode ever, we were spoiled after last week, but man does it set up the last season well.
Kim's path is now far less clear, Lalo out for vengeance, knowing it was Gus who put the hit out on him, Nacho running for his life, Mike being Mike.

Just perfectly set up for an awesome close to a great show.

This could also be why they kept Howard around, if he's the big con on top of all the rest of that...yeah...awesomeness.

Man, I hate cliffhanger endings. That said, Lalo is a great villain and I'm kinda glad he'll be around for the final season.

Also, Kim is such an amazing character. A complete wildcard and you just never know what to expect from her. Before this season, we were all saying there's no way she would stick with Jimmy after becoming Saul. Now, she's already several steps ahead of Jimmy and will likely be the final push to him becoming Saul.

Who saw that coming? You think she'll go left, she goes right. Amazing writing for this character. I'm more intrigued now than ever to find out where Kim was during BB.

Do we think Nacho is dead immediately in the next season?

What's crazy to me is that the Salamancas HAVE to know Gus was behind this, and yet, as far as we know, there is not an all-out war between the cartel and Gus until late in BB. How does Don Eladio not retaliate against Gus after this? Unless of course Eladio is siding with Gus over the Salamancas at this point in time. (I'm sure the money helped...)

Remind me - Bolsa was trying to prevent the money from getting to jail to keep Lalo behind bars, correct?

Also, anyone notice it was the same hotel room from BB? (After Jesse tried burning down the White house in S5.)

Solid finale, but again, I just hate cliffhangers. And now we wait for probably 2 years...

In the last episode Don Eladio gave Gus permission to go after Lalo. "Bad Luck" had left.

Made a similar reference to Bad Luck in this episode.

Ah, interesting. What was the dialogue/scene? Can't recall off the top of my head.

Kim's problem is that Jimmy lives in that world she is diving head long into. She's gotta be destined to flame out in it, one way or another.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Kim is the best written character on TV since Walter White.

Her and Jimmy/Saul are both fully fleshed out.

I still think Lalo sucks everyone in in every scene he is apart of. Dude has it.

Last episode, Gus calls Eladio while Eladio is playing golf. Mike is sitting next to Gus in the back of his restaraunt.

This episode, Eladio makes a reference to Gus having bad luck while presenting cash to Vuente.

Ah, you mean Bolsa, not Eladio.

Vuente is Eladio. (Did not even know his last name until now.)

Wow, what a season.

I'm definitely intrigued by Kim's arc. I agree that corrupting her to the point of disbarment and incarceration would be the ultimate tragedy for Jimmy. Glad they didn't kill her off.

I'm still holding out hope she and Jimmy/Saul/Gene reunite in Nebraska and sneak off to Honduras where they con tourists at bars for the rest of their lives.

I just figured out the only arc of Kim's that will truly satisfy... she breaks so bad she ultimately becomes the new head of the Juarez cartel.

Spinoff series is called "Kartel Kim."

It really is a crazy feeling to not know what you want. When the hit squad stormed in I said to myself "I should want this crazy evil ******* to die but he's so great that I don't think I do".

Then his escape was awesome and now I realize I'm so glad we'll have him for the final season.

Meh, no big loss. Tuco always felt over-the-top to me, too much like a caricature. And what you said in your post is probably the reason we got Lalo, who is a FAR better actor and character.

In the final shot before it cut to black, Lalo reminded me of the T-1000 from Terminator 2, except programmed with the greatest personality ever. He has that same, scary, relentless vibe. To watch him go full T-1000 next season, tracking down Saul, Nacho, and everyone else, should make for amazing television.

The weird part about that though is that we know he really only has 2 potential targets at this point: Nacho and Kim. While I think Nacho is a dead man, I think Kim makes it but becomes disbarred or has to go the way of the vacuum store. That leaves us with three questions: when will Nacho get it, when will Lalo get it, and will Kim get it?

That can make for great TV but it simplifies it for my simple brain quite a bit and makes nights like tonight more tolerable.

I was just about to post that! I Felt I was watching Terminator Lalo heading to finish off whoever crossed him.

Yeah that was a great shot for sure.

Here is another good article with Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Interesting that Vince had no interest in explaining who Lalo was and introducing his story/character but Peter convinced him to.

They are aiming for Fall 2021 release and that is obviously up in the air for now. God I don't know how I can wait that long.

I seem to recall the actor saying that it takes a lot out of him to get amped up to play Tuco.

I don't think Kim gets the Hoover treatment.

Story-wise, it's just too coincidental that Kim is from Nebraska, and in the Gene timeline, Jimmy is in Nebraska. They have to reunite, if only for a moment. I'm not saying it'll be a happy reunion, or that they'll get back together, but I think everything in the Gene timeline is leading to some kind of Kim run-in, either coincidentally or planned. For that reason, I don't see Kim getting a new I.D. and ending up somewhere other than Nebraska, since she likely wouldn't be sent to her home state. My guess is that she gets disbarred and simply returns home to a lesser job. Then, somehow, someway, she and Jimmy see each other again in the Gene timeline, in Nebraska.

We've got a long way to go in one season to get to Gene in Cinnabon.

Uhhh, Breaking Bad did that. We just need to get Saul to the BB timeline, which isn't far off at this point.

How in the world are they going to wrap this up in one more season? Bridging the gap between the current timeline and Gene is going to be tough for viewers that haven't watched breaking bad. Do they even try to make it stand on its own or will they make it where you have to watch breaking bad? Can't imagine explaining how that happened while closing out the existing story lines.
