We know that hasn't happened because of the year they're in. See the discussion from the old man's lease situation.

I figured there might be something I missed.

What year are they in and what year did BB start?
We're currently in 2004, and BB starts in 2008.

Barry Corbins comment was "Were 30 years into a lease that started in 1974"

That could mean its 2004, but he could be using 30 years casually. Like if I said the Chicago Bears won the Superbowl 30 years ago, although it was literally 34 years ago.

So it may be 2005 or 2006

Maybe. Seems to me though me though that they wrote that dialogue on purpose; I took that as a means to inform the audience.

I hear you, but no one's saying it has to be a "cute" reunion or that they get married or anything like that. There's a bittersweet version where, as low as Jimmy is in the Gene timeline, there's still someone who forgives him in her own way. They may never see each other again after this brief, theoretical reunion, but even if not forgiveness, maybe there's some form of closure to be had on both of their parts in one last encounter. I'm not looking for a happy ending, but I at least hope we get a meaningful one.

Yeah, a somber or bittersweet ending with Kim involved. That could be fitting.

What is y'alls take on the symbolism of the ants? These cold openings usually have some kind of symbolism.

Is it that Saul getting his license back is all happiness and joy like a fresh ice cream cone, and reality steps in and drags his whole life into ruin again, just like he finds the ice cream cone engulfed by ants?

The ants represent the new clients he's attracting.

When the single ant got to the top of the cone, he put the call out and mf'ers came out of the woodwork.

The BCS podcast had a great discussion about how that was filmed.

The ice cream is a metaphor for Jimmy's innocence/hopes/dreams/future with Kim. I loved how when he came back to that spot at the end of the episode, he looked down and saw how the ice cream was reduced to nothing, and then walked away. Such brilliance.

It has been a long time since I stayed up to watch a show broadcast in real time, but I'm thinking about doing it tonight.

Kim's story is about to come to a head.
Mike is god knows where.
Gus likes clean fryers.
No sign of nacho or his crew.
Hank and his partner have been the same for a decade.
And bowling balls have unknown purposes (though it's weird he had them picked out before the meeting).

I think that sums it up.

They don't always show things in chronological order, even within a show. So I wondered when that snippet happened. Was it pegged to another scene (like did he walk into the apartment with Kim holding the bowling bag?) I didn't catch it, if it was, so I'm wondering where in the timeline it happened.

I happened after the lunch. It was a flash forward at the beginning of the episode.

Why did Mike try and take on 6 guys? Did he just want a beating? Beat him so bad he ended up in Mexico. That's a butt kicking.

This old guy not willing to move is Rosco from Lonesome Dove right? Where's July?

After careful consideration sir, I've come to the conclusion that your new defense system sucks. [/Wargames]

Just saw this article and forgot this link. I know this is about last week's episode, but here is an explanation why Mike wanted the postcard taken down.

So Gus was watching after Mike I assume. Either that or it was Lalo for some reason, maybe looking to get an angle. The next episode will be the one where Mike goes all in with Gus I'm guessing.

He was also great very recently in the Netflix original series The Ranch which also has Sam Elliot. Corbin has a recurring role as the old grizzled veterinarian Dale that visits their ranch and has a funny but caustic relationship with Sam Elliots character - two old guys giving each other crap basically. But they are friends. It centers on Ashton Kutcher but I liked the old guys a lot. Also has the dad from That 70s Show as another bitter old timer in a small supporting role for a few episodes.

Yes, I believe so. Seemed like it was part of his plan. Thought they were going to go more into that. This show could honestly be 2 hour episodes. Almost every time a scene ends, I want it to keep going.
Enrico Pallazzo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Gus intended to leave the money, because if he doesn't, then Lalo knows that he got tipped off which potentially exposes Nacho as his mole inside Lalo's side of the organization. But having to watch $700M of his money get scooped up by the Feds to keep that cover is still hard to stomach and obviously ratcheting up his anger with the Salamanca's.
