The finale quietly answered the most burning question this season: why is Howard still on the show?

Certainly Kim is not so blinded, and knows that Jimmy will be Jimmy. Think of it as her mocking Jimmy, and playing along with him until she gets the payoff money.

My prediction with what would happen with Lalo and Nacho was way off.

I too thought she was looking for specific files - maybe cartel related, maybe to help out Saul, maybe to keep in her back pocket in case she needs leverage later down the road.
And maybe Gillian will use the CGI - The Irishman style - to help Mike look a tad younger in season 6!

I disagree. Kim has shown that she stands behind her actions and choices. She has shown very strong conviction when questioned.
She may very well be acting erratic but by her POV she's right and she's not afraid to stand up for herself.

Recalling the earlier Kim flashback, I just had a thought. They showed that young Kim was unwilling to go on a dangerous ride with her mom, didn't seem like a risk taker. I focused on the "you never listen Kim!" from her mom, but the thought she wouldn't ride with her drunk mom makes me wonder why she'd now "ride" along with someone with cartel ties. What was the point of that flashback? I don't really know but I'd think it was to give some insight into how Kim's behaviors were formed.
It's also possible that by refusing to ride with her mom that night it irrevocably damaged her relationship with her mom, and perhaps she now fears putting her foot down in a similar fashion and losing Jimmy - so just going along?

But the cartel thing scared her and she wants that to end, I believe that. I also think Jimmy either knows his cartel involvement can't end, even with Lalo dead, or maybe just that he doesn't want it to end and he doesn't want Kim exposed to that kind of risk. Kim had a legitimate emotional reaction to Jimmy's call from the desert, she isn't faking caring while playing out some "get back at him" scheme ( I don't think), and Jimmy had a legitimate emotional scene with Mike where he says "if anything were to happen to her....".
Regarding season 6, it's planned to be 13 episodes, not 10, and was to be released in 2021. If Covid 19 stuff disrupts any of that, what a shame.
I may have to go back and watch the episode, but didn't Gus say the hitmen/assassins were the best in the business? And didn't Lalo dispose of all 4 of them?

Part of Kim's big arc this season has been based on the tension of what's compelled to do (Mesa Verde) vs what she wants to do (Pro-bono work). The finale showed that pro-bono work isn't "hitting her in the heart" anymore.
The next obvious step is for her is the realization that her heart true desire isn't pro-bono work but scamming the rich and powerful.

To answer your actual question, Id say they aren't like either.
Especially by this point in BB, I didn't really like Walter or Jesse. I'm sure some people did but I didn't care about what happened to them outside of the show still be interesting and hoping it was entertaining as a return on investment for watching.

This brings up another interesting subplot
In BB Saul isn't a cartel lawyer correct? So somehow he does get out from under them. That would also have to happen in the final season.
