Yeah, I found myself thinking about the Netflix Marvel shows a lot through this episode. Daredevil et al. all head interesting, but small scale conflicts with good leads and villains.

First time posting in this thread. The first two episodes were meh, but this one was really good. Loved the Christmas music being a staple in this episode and that car chase scene was great.

Maybe. If rumors are to be believed, then it's most likely a same actor, different universe situation. I don't think it necessarily canonizes Netflix or needs to be reconciled with any particular Netflix timeline.

But good question - either snapped or just out of town perhaps. or not quite big-time yet.

Disney already announced echo will get her own spinoff, so I also assume she'll flip to good. I can't imagine they'd give an entire show to a bad guy. Or they could wait to flip her until that show, who knows.

It's basically 4 hours worth of product to put out for Marvel/ Disney...... and you'd have to imagine that's about the length of their movies before they start cutting out unnecessary plot lines, etc. so it feels like this might be right within their wheelhouse.

I think you're right. I think if they go to 8 or 10 episodes, they probably should think of it as making 2 movies. It just feels like the shows with 8-10 episodes don't have enough story to support the length. I'd rather them be a little ambitious and try to fit too much in than realize they don't have enough story and make certain elements drag.

I've been reading the run in the comics the show is based on and it's also entertaining, with some notable differences. I do enjoy in both the tv show and the comic they are really hammering home that when Clint isn't Hawkeye, part of the Avengers, he's just Clint. He's just a guy, no superpowers, no secret identity either (other than the public doesn't know he was Ronin.) He gets hurt when he gets hit, he's not a god, he's not impervious to pain or injury, has no superhuman powers. This is like a buddy cop movie for the most part, and I'm liking it.

While that's certainly true about Hawkeye, it's also true about Black Widow. And Tony Stark, unless you consider his brain and the suit it developed to be a superpower.

I think he'll stick around. They could easily use him in a leadership capacity for Young Avengers, or Thunderbolts, or Shield/Sword. I don't know if he'll be whipping arrows around as much but I'm expecting that he comes out of this adventure with Kate with a renewed sense of self-worth.

I'm loving this series and, for me, it's trailing only Loki in the best Disney+ series

Echo is an interesting pick, but it makes more sense than I initially realized. In the comics, she's actually the first Ronin. Daredevil sends her to Japan - I think to infiltrate the Hand - and then the New Avengers go to try and rescue her when things go south. She joins the team for a while. Eventually Hawkeye returns and wears the Ronin suit.

Interestingly, that scenario ends with Elektra being killed and revealed to have been replaced with a Skrull, which is the beginning of the threads that lead to Secret Invasion. I'm not going to start the "who's a Skrull?" train but Clint Barton could easily reappear in Secret Invasion along with Nick Fury and Maria Hill. We'll see what the post credits in Hawkeye sets up, if anything!
