I think Kate has it and is going to use it to bargain her way into helping Clint. I also think she's going to find out the identity of who's in the Rolex.

Speaking of that - any guesses of who could be in it?

I read a theory that it belonged to Clint's wife. Perhaps she was a former agent and it contains info on her that would compromise their safety.?

just watched episode 4...oh boy, Clint has his hands full now. Not sure how he's going to get out of this mess without his family becoming involved.

as previously mentioned...he needs to flip Maya or Yelena or both to his side.

great fight on the rooftop. All 4 are fairly evenly matched. I really wanted Kate to win.

starting to wonder if Jack isn't a bad guy. Just aloof and doesn't know what Sloan Ltd really does.

I just figured it's more Stark technology like the Spider-Man glasses, but I now realize that is kind of copycating so maybe the Rolex will be something new.

Rolex ends up being Jack's, he was the inside man anonymously helping Ronin all those years, happy ending for all involved?

We just watched the Black Widow movie over the weekend. One thing that was interesting to me was that in the movie, Dreykov's daughter (the Taskmaster) had superior mimicking abilities which allowed her to be an amazing fighter.

In Hawkeye, Maya Lopez (Echo) also seems to have exceptional mimicking abilities.

I found it interesting that Marvel set up two connected characters with foes who have the same essential skill. Is this intentional, or just a coincidence? I haven't done a deep dive online about this, or whether there's a connection between the two characters.

I'm excited for this Wednesday's episode. With only 2 episodes left and how much happened in episode 4, at this point I'm not really sure how this show ends. I think it ends with Clint back home with this family on Christmas, but I have no idea how we're getting there at the moment.

Don't know about that, but I used to read Iron Man comics as a kid. I remember the first time I saw an issue featuring Taskmaster. I believe he had been hired to steal tech for some bigger villain but don't recall the exact plot.

He ended up fighting Rhodey and at some point explained that he was born with "photographic reflexes" and could see a football star or fighter or, eventually, a superhero, demonstrate their moves and immediately recall them and perform them.

The Black Widow movie really wasted an opportunity to do more with that kind of villain.

We probably discussed it in the BW movie thread but why do they insist on a Russian accent for Yelena (other than sex appeal)? She's trained as a spy and can surely do an American accent after her childhood.

Also, what is Kate's motivation at this point? I thought that after the macaroni scene when she realized how easily Yelena could've ended her and the talk with her mother about being a superhero, she might be rethinking this role

Is there a universe that The Netflix DD series isn't dead?

I know they were MCU but it seemed like it was understood those characters were basically done and we would never see any Netflix marvel characters again.

Also DD and Punisher were very mature for a Disney + offering.

Well, it seems like they are going to bring the characters back with the same actors. Or at least some of them. They just had to wait 2 years before they could use the characters again not on Netflix. They will probably never get the rights to stream those Netflix shows on Disney + so they may just use the actors and start a new continuity and explain it away with the multiverse.

I'm 90% certain this will be same actors, different universe.

Otherwise, Kingpin has already been in jail twice at this point and is very definitively a publicly-known criminal.

In the context of those Netflix shows, they are. The door is obviously open for their return (as we see with Kingpin and Daredevil), but I imagine they'll be somewhat reimagined in the context of the greater MCU whenever they appear.
